This feels like the slowest build ever. I have walked past multiple times and overheard people commenting that this have been under construction for a long time! I thought modular construction was supposed to be quick!
I would have thought it would have been cheaper and faster to just demolish and rebuild. The building that was there was nothing special considering what they do knock down.
It is a pretty modular construction though - just look at it - not a traditional build - with the steel frame, prefabricated sections and curtain wall. The bathrooms are all prefabricated off site and dropped in as the floors go up - you can see them in the pictures. Just seems to be very few people working on site.
Unbelievable vibe in northbridge tonight. Chinese New Year fair plus fringe world plus wildcats game with good weather aswell. Packed out even at 9pm buzzing with good vibe and no anti social behaviour that you usually see. Walked around city link and a couple in their 50's were asking me if I knew what's happening with the vacant lots. I spoke for a while even recommended this site. Then they started talking about all the small bars opening up. Think they are neutral when it comes to high rise developments but they were really interested and fascinating with how the city is changing.
