This is a pretty great proposal, the more of these we see the more convinced I am of South Perth's new scheme provisions being responsible for the marked improvement in design quality happening here but not elsewhere. The site they're developing is townhouses but it looks like they've only bought 4 of the 6 in the row. Hope whoever held out on selling theirs in the hopes of killing the project is kicking themselves.

Also very good to see this new cycle of proposals moving up the peninsula into the existing, utterly lifeless high density area. The inclusion of 4 storeys of office space and the area's first retail tenancy should hopefully start to change that.

Great to see these types of developments happening in South Perth.
I think living in South Perth would be far more convenient than the CBD. Being in the CBD itself is a pain to get into, out of and park.

Things like shopping etc become painful in the CBD - hard to walk 5 blocks carrying heaps of shopping. Friends of mine in the CBD used to drive out of the CBD to the suburbs to do their weekly shop.

Plus you such a great view of the CBD itself, and its so close to drive or take the ferry too.

It'd just be reapproved by the same DAP panel. The proposal conforms to the requirements of the scheme, end of.

The Supreme Court doesn't determine whether the substance of a decision is correct or not but whether the law that facilitated the making of that decision was applied correctly. The scheme gives a determining authority the discretion to infinitely increase heights subject to their deeming a proposal as meeting certain requirements. They exercised that discretion. The end. If there was some technical error in the approval that warranted the approval being quashed, they'll just get a fresh approval and continue as planned.
