Actually, plonking the bell tower next to the kiosk sounds like a fascinating idea. It'll cost hundreds of millions of dollars, but it might just be offset by the economic benefits earned.

Cover the Freeway at Parl House and put the Bells up there. Just the cost of moving it. No additional work needed as this will be done when the freeway is cavered.

I meant moving the whole tower but your idea is just as good, but you are still an arse.

The belltower seems to be the main obstacle to getting iconic buildings at EQ. The original plans for the tower would have fitted the bill but as usual had to be made bland to fit in with Perth's identity of itself.

The Bell Tower isn't effecting developments within EQ at all. The adjacent development site has a 30 story building envelope.

I think the plan was to be only by car, no pedestrian access and only one way, but COP aren't happy because they believe it will draw focus away from the actual CBD itself. I think... I'm not sure, because the COP aren't sure either.
