Despite that, the mall will mostly cater to the C crowd and below. It would be something similar to The Big-C chains of Thailand.

I admire those local brands. They got good designs with reasonable prices. In fact they dominated the local ladies fashion scene for years. But im kinda afraid for them now after the recent explosion in the number of foreign brands entering the country. The above local brands are slowly being pushed out and replaced with foreign marks. Now local brands dont occupy prominent spaces in our top malls but relegated to secondary spaces. I hope our local brands continue to thrive. I also hope they expand abroad like what penshoppe and bench are doing.

Tan Caktiong, Sia, Sy join forces for community malls

MANILA, Philippines - The brain child of Jollibee's Tony Tan Caktiong and Mang Inasal's Injap Sia will soon be available to investors at the Philippine Stock Exchange, as real estate developer DoubleDragon gets set to be the first initial public offering of the year.

DoubleDragon is looking to raise a little over a billion pesos from its public listing, with the funds to be used for its foray into commercial and retail development - CityMall, which will focus on the Visayas and Mindanao market.

Before the IPO, the Sy group got into the action first, buying a third of the CityMall development.

A department store that is truly unique....... For the first time ever, Fisher Fashion Store launched not just one, not two but 21 in-house brands. An excellence of a promising retailer for the future.....

Fisher Mall enters retail fashion industry
By Jennylei Caberte (The Philippine Star) | Updated March 17, 2014 - 12:00am

Quote:
MANILA, Philippines - As if building their own mall wasn’t risky enough, the owner of Fisher Mall went the extra mile by going into retail fashion.

Unlike most malls that only incorporate their own brands after years in operation, Fisher Fashion Store chose a bold and new path — introduce not one, not two but 21 in-house brands in their store.

Aileenette Moleen Perez del Rosario, president and CEO of Clothers Asia, the firm behind Fisher Fashion Store, agrees that introducing new house brands this early in the game is a risk, but is worth taking because by making a bold move, Fisher Fashion Store can offer a lot more to its shoppers.

“Opening a mall, the Fisher Mall itself, is new to us because we were in a different industry so it was a big risk already, but since we’re here, we might as well go all the way for our customers,” enthuses Moleen, the dermatologist who is obviously not just an expert in beauty and skin care but also in curing fashion heartache as well.

Fisher Fashion Store, which houses four floors of the eight-floor Fisher Mall, advocates the message, “Look your best and spend much less.” It has something for everyone, from kids to adults. It carries updated classic fashion for the different fashion looks and mood of the modern-day men and women at value for money and competitive prices.

Some of the in-house brands in Fisher Fashion Store include Felicity, Sway, Disguise, Flaunt, Roberto, Cotton Colony, Sabio, Simon and Juliana, Fisher Basics and Tradisyon, just to name a few.
