Megaworld has announced plans to build another BPO hub in the Central Visayas region.

The BPO park will rise on a 25-hectare complex near Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa in Mactan, Cebu City. It is a few minutes away from the Mactan-Cebu International Airport, the second largest airport in the Philippines.

The airport enjoys direct international service from foreign cities such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Kota Kinabalu and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Koror in Palau, Kaohsiung, Taipei and Taoyuan in Taiwan, Shanhai-Pudong in China, Busan, Incheon and Seoul in South Korea, Tokyo and Narita in Japan and Doha in Qatar.

Megaworld’s Cebu project will be home to high-tech offices and leisure facilities. Initial development cost is estimated at P2.5 billion.

“Megaworld already owns a part of the Cebu property, and we have plans to acquire the rest of it,” said Megaworld Executive Director Kingson Sian.

I agree, after Brgy. Ibo when you turn left heading to the road leading to Mactan shrine, it would really be congested in the years to come, this time pa lang where mostly multicabs ply the route may traffic na, I hope this will be addressed with sense of urgency..

An initial P2.5 billion budget for a 25-hectare development? this seems to be Megaworld's most expensive project outside Manila. Wow, another exciting development for Cebu which is adjacent to the Shangri-la resort!

About P1 billion of that amount would go to construction, which would start late this year. source: Manila Times

Megaworld Eyes Cebu as BPO Hub

Following its recent purchase of the old Iloilo airport, Megaworld has announced plans to build another BPO hub in the Central Visayas region.

Further details of the project have yet to be finalized, he said.
it seems Megaworld is building a cross-breed of Eastwood City in Libis and Forbes Town Center in Global City. both developed by Megaworld. the selling point for this project is the presence of a lake? river? waterpark? and a bunch of greens!

Ah... Eastwood. I just love that place. I imagined Cuidad to be like eastwood/atc but then Tommy had to stop the construction.

Wow, at least you have the rendering na! We here in Iloilo are still waiting for their rendering for the said BPO Park that they'll be constructing at the old airport site. (Although they've been clearing since late December) They say that it will be also a combination of work and leisure, like what they did to Libis. They'll do the same with Cebu but I think there could be a difference (maybe the layout or rendering or something like that).

For me, mix work and leisure, the Cebuano island living style! Its in Mactan and its more than just an ordinary island for me.

This is really a one of a kind project. Correct me if im wrong but once this project would be completed, it will be the only IT Park which is a resort in itself. I cant think of any IT Park cum Resort existing or upcoming projects in our country today.

Yep! It will be fantastic. The airport is within minutes, the white sand beach within seconds, work is just a building away and the party is just downstairs from where you live. Only CeBu!
