Pittsburgh: The City of Champions + Flash

Saturday night at 8PM my girlfriend and I decided that it would be a good idea to drive back to my hometown (Washington, PA... ~25 miles south of Pittsburgh) from Raleigh, NC to watch the Superbowl on Sunday, and if we won, go into Pittsburgh to experience the celebration. Once we heard the parade was on Tuesday, I couldn't pass up the chance to attend.

It was a very cold morning in the Burgh, with flashes of blue sky along with snow flurries.

The city was out in full force to celebrate our Steelers.

Hines wanted to get me on camera.

Big Ben says hello.

Puhlamalu.....Itss Polamalu:

Fast Willie Parker.

Joey Porter.

Casey Hampton, your average 330 pound guy. I high-fived him.

El yeah.

Dick LeBeau and Ken Whisenhunt.

"Thanks."

Pittsburgh's new mayor, Bob O'Connor. He heard people shout "Give us an arena!".

The Bus' parents.

Fans scale a wall at Fort Duquesne at the Point.

Here's bonus shots of the post-Superbowl celebration:

I met up with one of my best friends who happened to take a bus from Philly to watch the game in the strip.

Hallowed ground the night of the XL win.

This is Ben Roethlisberger's house at Washington's Landing. We assumed he was watching himself on Letterman at this point in time.

Welcome to Pittsburgh. Home of the World Champion Pittsburgh Steelers.

Cool pics. Not for nothing, but that looks like a very small house for an NFL star player don't you think?

I like that he lives modestly. A lot of these pro athletes buy these really extravagant, ridiculous mansions and it just seems like total excess.
