And "overlooking Stepaside" is a bit like saying Liberty Hall is "overlooking" Three Rock Mountain!

But I wouldn't expect a Green Party Councillor to be very good at geography...or anything else
Centre of Stepaside is about 130m above sea level and Sentinel base is 90m. If you add 14 floors to that it may "overlook" Stepaside a bit.

Not from any part of Stepaside where you can actually see it.

It ain't "overlook" if it can't see you

Three kilometres is not that far - and two to Mount Merrion from what I see.

Who really cares? She wasn't saying that it overlooks anything in order to criticise the height, she was saying it in order to push for someone to actually finish building the fecking thing.

New offices being swiftly built beside Central Park, two cranes are now present on the site.

Apparently the link road between J14 and Blackthorn (via the ESB Networks site and Fern road) is due to start in the new year. I presume this also includes the link to Arena road. I doubt this will have much impact on transport or development around Sandyford but it does improve the pedestrian and cycling access to the estate from the residential estates across the M50 which is no bad thing. The lack of pedestrian facilities on J13, Drummartin or the proposed extension to Bracken road are very annoying.

I wish they'd improve the DLRCC website, or even restore it - since it got a "major upgrade" early in the year there is almost nothing up-to-date regarding roads/transport projects

One South County in the South County Business Park in the Sandyford Business Area, or OSC in the SCB in the SBA as we might say here:

It hasn't risen above the hoarding yet but the cranes are lookin' good!

Trouble is it doesn't actually look like that! It's been like a bombed-out building in Beirut for 10 years...with no sign of any change.

But its "prominence" did lead our "planners" to refuse an actual development of 500 apartments that would be ready live in six months from now...instead we have a wasteland overlooked by a prominent decaying skeleton.
