IIT-M to sign MoU with HAL

CHENNAI: IIT-Madras is set to sign an MoU with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Bangalore, to work together in the field of aerospace transmission.
Under the tie-up, a HAL-IIT-M Centre for aerospace transmission system will be set up on the campus. The MoU will be signed at a programme at IIT on Monday
HAL had agreed on a technology cooperation during the Aero India show that was held in Bangalore earlier this year. Both the organisations will collaborate to do research in the transmission system for the helicopter and flight engines being developed by HAL and to evolve required software and design solutions for different types of gears, bearings, lubrication system, vibration monitoring system and production technologies.
