*checks Wikipedia*
USA 1994: not qualified for 1986 (awarded in 1988)
France 1998: not qualified for 1990 & 1994 (awarded in 1992)
Japan/Korea 2002: Japan not qualified for 1994 (awarded in 1996)
Russia 2018: not qualified for 2010 (awarded in December 2010)
Qatar 2022: never qualified

True, I remembered saying a French that they hadn't been qualified to a WC since 1986 (where they reached SF with Platini) because runned out on 1990 and 1994, and in 1998 because hosted nation.
Later in 2002 they lost all matches and didn't score any goal. I do not know if it was first time that current champion is fired because losing all... but surely because not scoring anything.

I also Remember eurocup 2004 where Portugal was chosen as host country despite they didn't have best stadiums nor best infrastructures and so on... but were chosen.

It was part of policy in football. That time Portugal reached final and... as in Maracana, they were run out by Greece!!!! 0-1 but more than one decade later they have improved their football and will be in the first pot for choosing groups in the WC.

This is .... a sort to take football venues to countries where you wanna developpe it.
And surely, it works!!!

Since 1954 to 1986 USA wasn't qualified. They got 1990 qualification and 1994 as host country.
This time they are out (losing last match against Trinidad and Tobago!!! WTF!!!, they lost even the tied chance)

Canada... I only remember them in Mexico 1986 (where Mexico was host northern country)

Italy... let's see if they got a ticket.

And some years ago, no UK teams were in an Eurocup despite there are 16 places (this is, nor England, nor Wales, nor Scotland, nor Northern Ireland, nor... whatever).

Sometimes sport is..... fair

(btw, in 1992, there were only 8 teams for eurocup. One out of them was Yugoslavia who was in a civil war. He was fired and was invited to play Denmark as best second team..... and they won the championship)

Avez-vous vu les lieux des stades de Manaus et Matto-Grosso au Brésil?
(et l'attendance moyenne aux matches et leur capacité)
