UST Global is a leading software services firm founded and based in Trivandrum. It currently has close to 8000 employees, mostly in Technopark with the rest spread across its many global locations.
The firm was allocated 36 acres of SEZ land to develop its own campus as part of Technopark Phase II and it has come up with a stunning campus which would eventually seat a whopping 30,000 technology professionals, making it one of the biggest single campuses in the world! The only competition I can think of are the TCS campuses at Pune and Siruseri.

IT company UST Global to invest $100 million, hire 25,000 people in India
NEW DELHI: US-based IT services company UST Global plans to invest $100 million (about Rs 610 crore) in India and hire over 25,000 people, mostly telecom professionals, over the next two to three years as it seeks to build capacity in anticipation of strong growth in the country's telecom sector.
Sajan Pillai, chief executive at UST Global, told ET that India's telecom sector is set to see the largest growth over the next five years, from a services perspective, as millions of customers will begin using smartphones, leading to massive increase in data usage. This, in turn, will require back-end support for customer management, operating and business systems (OSS, BSS) on data networks.
"We're building an overall aggregated capacity of over 25,000 people in the next two and half years," Pillai said. "Just on the telecom area and the capacity we want to build, we will have to invest $100 million." He added that the company will double capital and investments into Internet Protocol in India.
The massive network infrastructure of telecom companies can well become the backbone for a great number of mobile services including m-finance, m-agriculture, m-healthcare and m-education. Hence, UST wants to tap into this sector and wants to make telecom services one of its core businesses globally, alongside healthcare and retail.
The California-based multinational intends to strengthen its portfolio of
services and prepare people resources to aide carriers when they face mounting growth coming from rising data usage, figments of which have begun to appear on carriers' quarterly results.
"Indian operators can overtake global players, since they have the advantage of a local market," said Pillai, who has since 2008 headed the company that is also the principal sponsor of IPL cricket team Chennai Super Kings. "There will be a general shift in the industry where the new economy will be an API (read apps) economy, which will converge quickly with telecom networks, which will be cross-industry. Basic call connectivity will get commoditised, so the real value adds will be these platforms that customers use."
Data usage on India's largest telco Bharti AirtelBSE 3.31 % has almost doubled to 67,668 MB (megabytes) in the quarter to September 2014 over year-ago period, while data usage per customer has increased 31% and customers using data has risen 43% to over 40 million. Data used by each of the 34 million subscribers of Idea CellularBSE -0.19 % has increased 52% to 470 MB in the quarter to December, from 309 MB in the same quarter of 2013.
UST Global provides consulting, business process outsourcing, system
integration, application development and maintenance services including
operating and business support systems to carriers. With the aim of making telecom a core business, the company intends to offer telcos customised solutions and insights into customers' data usage.
In its global campus in Trivandrum, where the company has capacity for 30,000 people, about 22,000 people will be added to the existing 8,000 people. The company set up a Global Telecom Centre of Excellence in Gurgaon in 2013, where 1,000 people will be hired, dedicated to offering back-end support services to carriers.
Another centre in Bengaluru, where engineers are focused on internet of things, a segment Pillai believes will become a major focus for telcos within a decade, will hire about 1,000 people, and a higher number of people in the product development centre in Pune will be hired.
Do any one have any idea about the inauguration of this campus ? 5 years, still they didn't complete one block even though it's massive ! In gulf for a major project, they will mention completion time, contractor name and the value of the contract in board. Here who cares !
Maybe you should check your facts, there are 1,300 people working in that fully operational Death Star...errr, building. Non-Star Wars fans please excuse.
AFAIK, UST has over 7,000 people in total in Technopark. They are still the single largest employer in TP, although Infy and TCS will soon overtake them.
Won't they fly away in search of greener and bigger lakes?
