ESTONIA | Landscape Architecture | Maastikuarhitektuur

Place for discussing developments regarding parks, vertical gardens and other similar stuff in Estonia.

Why? Because we also need greenery in glass & concrete dominated urban landscape

Completed channels in Kadrioru Park,Tallinn.

Concrete channels looked quite bad, when they were U/C (you can find photos of U/C channels in the abyss of Tallinn Development Thread) but now when the water is flowing,it actually looks okay.

Athough it's accurate,it's still odd to find sign notifying about Ülemiste road junction construction here. Those channels guide excess rain water from Ülemiste few kilometres away to Bay of Tallinn.

Business end of the channels.

Japanese Garden in Kadrioru Park,Tallinn. Designed by Masao Sone.

It's still work in progress and as stated by Kadrioru Park website:
Quote:
Tulevikus paigaldame 3 väravat, teemaja, ootepaviljoni,2 silda, laternaid, pagoode, kätepesunõusid jms.
Here's how it looks right now:

Sakura trees are still blossoming

One of two bridges which were made and then brought here from Japan.

Looks good and feels very zen (believe me!) right now, even though garden reaches it's "finished" looks in perhaps 10 years time. Entire garden is surrounded by line of elupuud (I don't know how these are called in English),which will seclude garden from rest of the park in the future.

If I remember correctly, then garden gets tea house and gates by 2015.

Looks great.
Tallinn has one, now in Vilnius we will have the second, more larger than the first one japan park ( plus sakura square) in NCC;

Japan/asia parks have something special. Or maybe it is because of that..we are nature friendly societies...

Midagi uut maastikuarhitektuuri rindelt. Lasnamäel on avatud Tondiloo park, kahjuks, nagu tavaliselt on ikka paari asjaga mööda pandud. Iseenesest tore park, kuid annab nuriseda...

Künkakesed on kenasti siirdemuruga kaetud ja näevad kenad välja

Kena ringide teemas kogunemiskoht

Ja nüüd jõuame "not good" osa juurde...
