Technopark, Trivandrum - India's Biggest and Greenest IT Park

Hi all,

Started in the early '90s, this IT park has now grown to be the biggest in India and employs around 10,000 people with tenants like Infosys, TCS, Ernst & Young, Mackinsey, Allianz, Tata Elxsi, US Technologies and many more - about 80 in all. arun_sid, nice pics..btw see more in the list..This is the existing 70,000 sft Corporate Training Center of TCS.

As clear by arun's pics, it is on a hill side and more floors when viewed from the back.

A new 3.5 lakhs sft Global Training centre of TCS, 'Peepul Park' is getting ready near to this, in the valley.

Nice pix Arun. :) Like Sudheesh says, this TCS Corporate Training Centre has trained the bulk of the people in the company these days, so most TCSians have pleasant memories of Trivandrum. They all rave on and on about how beautiful Technopark and Trivandrum are.

TCS has reaffirmed its commitement to Trivandrum by locating its massive Global Training Hub, the massive 350,000 sft Peepul Park, inside Technopark. Every TCS recruit, from India and around the world, will now undergo training in Trivandrum. :)

TCS is getting ready to construct a 5,000 seater Development Centre adjacent to this facility on a 26 acre plot. Construction of this is to start after the work on Peepul Park is completed in Dec or Jan. The centre is due to be operational towards end-2006.

Here is an image of the Peepul Park site, taken about two months ago. Work has progressed significantly now, with the main structure nearing completion in line with the completion date of Dec 2005. The builders are M/S Shapoorji Pallonji. Stay tuned for the latest pix!

Another view of Nila

Taken from the top of Bhavani, this view shows the massive curved skylight on top of the building. Both Nila and Bhavani are designed to provide extensive natural illumination in their interiors to add to the natural feel of the workspace. Hope this style of design continues with the even bigger Thejaswini as well. :)

Technopark Phase II Campus

I am posting a series of pictures of the 86 acre Technopark Phase II campus. The first three images were taken on August 6, while the next three were taken today. We can see the rapid progress of work. Landfilling was completed about two weeks ago.

Infosys Technologies has been alloted 50 acres of this land for the construction of their independent campus. Phase I of this complex is due for completion in 8 months, with eventual completion in 2007. Infosys plans to have 5000 personnel here initially and then 10,000 in 3-4 years time. They also have plans to acquire an additional 50 acres! :)

The remaining 36 acres are earmarked for US Technologies, the largest IT firm in Kerala. However, several leading Indian IT firms are looking to pick up parcels of this land. These include HCL, Satyam and others. Stay tuned for details of this. :)
