They almost finished! And the design sure looks mediocre but the views are to die for.

The Paterson To Launch This Weekend

5 May 2004

Singapore Land, through its subsidiary, Ideal Homes Pte Ltd is launching this weekend, The Paterson, a premium freehold development of 88 exclusive homes in District 9. Just minutes from Orchard Road yet amidst tranquil surroundings this project brings to life the finest in city living. As Singapore Land’s first residential development in almost 30 years, The Paterson marks the company’s renewed focus on the residential sector.

The 22-storey development has a variety of residences, from two-bedroom, three-bedroom and four-bedroom units to penthouses. Sizes range from 1,200 to 3,000 square feet.

“Designed as a homeowner’s private sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of the city, The Paterson epitomizes an elite lifestyle, nestled in prime District 9. This is definitely the perfect contemporary home for the discerning buyer,” said Mr Joseph Tan, Director, Residential Project Marketing, CB Richard Ellis.

In addition to its locational advantages, which include close proximity to quality schools, prestigious town clubs and Singapore’s most well–known shopping belt it also has easy access to expressways and is just minutes from the Orchard MRT station.

The Paterson features a totally unique architectural approach. Elegant and restrained, the building is designed to be an aesthetic landmark and a signature development. Sheathed in glass, with an ideal North-South orientation, The Paterson offers residents breath-taking panoramic views of vibrant Orchard Road and the Singapore River. The building is majestically crowned by a large trellised canopy, which will be uplighted at night. The external designs of rich textures are also carried through to the interiors of each unit.

“Another highlight of the development that is truly unique is a specially commissioned collection of fine art in an expansive sculptured garden. This sculpture trail, a first of its kind in a private condominium, starts at the impressive entrance court and curves through undulating lawns, landscaped gardens and water features adding value through art to the residents lives,” added Mr Tan.

In the sprawling 60,000 square feet development, a large range of amenities and facilities have been positioned. A swimming pool, accentuated by black shimmering tiles provides a stunning backdrop for the multi-purpose hall and gymnasium. Tennis courts, play areas and a BBQ area are the other facilities.

“Competitively priced from $1.5 million upwards, the average price of the 88 units is $1,240 per square foot. Already more than 40 per cent of the units have been snapped up before the official launch,” said Mr Tan.

Temporary Occupation Permit for The Paterson is expected in the third quarter of 2004.

Strange...different developers do things differently.

The ones at Evelyn Rd are being built but dont have a name or launch yet...which is good since CityDev will probably build the 245m apartment first.

another look from the side - its quite a fat building and though not very tall, you can see it from the pedestrian bridge next to Far East Plaza.

the colours play a part, but i think its the 'trying-to-look-complicated' without fine details that spoils it? not sure though.. that's the best i could come up wtih.
