TianJin (天津) :
Tianjin (Chinese: 天津; pinyin: Tiānjīn; Postal map spelling: Tientsin) is the second largest city in northern coastal China. Administratively it is one of the four municipalities that have provincial-level status, reporting directly to the central government. Its urban area is the third largest in China, ranked only after Beijing and Shanghai.
Tianjin's urban area is located along the Hai He River. Its ports, some distance away, are located on Bohai Gulf in the Pacific Ocean. Tianjin was once home to foreign concessions in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republican era. The municipality now incorporates the coastal region of Tanggu, home to the Binhai New Area and the TEDA economic development zone. Tianjin Municipality borders Hebei province to the north, south, and west; Chinese capital Beijing is to the northwest, and Bohai Gulf to the east.

xi'an - ShanXi Province (西安 - 陕西省):

Xi'an (Chinese: 西安; pinyin: Xī'ān; Wade-Giles: Hsi-An; Postal map spelling: Sian[1]; historically known as Cháng'ān[1]), is the capital of the Shaanxi province in the People's republic of China and a sub-provincial city. As one of the oldest cities in Chinese history, Xi'an is one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China because it has been the capital (under various names) of some of the most important dynasties in Chinese history,[2] including the Zhou, Qin, Han, the Sui, and Tang dynasties.[2] Xi'an is the eastern terminus of the Silk Road and known as the site of the Qin Dynasty Terracotta Army.[1] The city is more than 3,100 years old, and was known as Chang'an (traditional Chinese: 長安; simplified Chinese: 长安; pinyin: Cháng'ān; literally "Perpetual Peace") before the Ming Dynasty.[1]

Since the 1990s, as part of the economic revival in central and northwestern China, the City of Xi'an has re-emerged as an important cultural, industrial and educational center of the central-northwest region, with facilities for research and development, national security and China's space exploration program.

What I was indicating is that the pictures show almost no differences. I'm sure chinese cities look very different at a closer look though. I was wondering why the thread-opener shows so many similar pics.... :dunno:

The pictures are beautiful though, please continue!

@foadi: please spare me with your minority complex towards the great western civilization ;)
