Yeah I saw the ad in our papers too. If they are selling it, then we can be quite sure it will see the light of day!

If you can read chinese, or just want to see pictures, go to its official website at http://www.skyline-mansion.com. The flash intro shows some cool renderings!

Shanghai, Lujiazui X3-2 tower

X3-2 Tower rendering

PLOT X3-2 TOWER

The tower will be built on plot X3-2 (hence its temporary name) and sould be seen from Puxi bund in between two residential buildings complex : Tomson Seaview Garden ( topped, on Riverside Avenue , next to City Group tower) and Gloria Harbour (under construction on Riverside Avenue, next to Tomson Seaview Garden). Both of them can be seen on the rendering.

Oriental Development Management Ltd. plans to invest $350 million to build a Shanghai office tower designed by Sani Pei the son of the architect behind the Bank of China building in Hong Kong and the glass pyramid at the Louvre. The closely held U.S. developer said it paid $48 million for a 9,200-square-meter (99,000-square-foot) parcel of land to build the 43-story aluminum-and-glass X3-2 tower, designed by Sandi Pei, son of architect I.M. Pei. Construction will begin in the first quarter and be completed by the end of 2006.

The 43-story Class A office building will provide 80,000 square meters of office space in a prime location in Shanghai's New Lujiazui Financial District. Rising to a height of 200 meters the tower plan rotates 45° transforming a square footprint into an eight-sided glass prism whose facets will shimmer the entire day with reflected light. The resulting floor plans take maximum advantage of the site and offer direct unobstructed views to Old Shanghai and to its renowned Bund located on the waterfront across the Huangpu River.

Shanghai, Lujiazui Gloria Harbour View

http://www.cofco.com.cn/en/4.0/topgl...glihuayuan.gif

GLORIA HARBOUR

Shanghai Pudong Gloria Harbour View is in the prime location of Lujiazui Central Financial District, Pudong, Shanghai, fronting Pudong Binjiang Main Street and Huangpu River to the south. In its neighborhood are high-rise office buildings and hotels. When fully developed, this property will have a gross floor area of more than 1,000,000 square feet. This development concept was inspired by other top-class luxury apartments. The project comprises five highrise deluxe residential blocks providing multi-storey and duplex apartments. The complex will also include gardens, a luxurious clubhouse and underground car parks. The landscaped space covers approximately 65% of the total area of the construction site. The Group believes that this development project will cater for buyers who desire a comfortable and fashionable home living environment and will provide satisfactory returns.

Construction has begun, as you can see on this picture, Note Buildings implantation and The two circles of the pools.

Seems like a great location for the residentials although they seem weird in the rendering.

Yes, great location with panoramic view on Puxi. At least the design is a bit more inventive than the other residential buildings under construction in lujiazui.

Tomson Seaview Garden towers (between Citigroup building and Gloria Harbour) seem very poorly conventional architecture, just stacked floors. Only their thinness preverses the verticality feeling of the area despite their relatively shortness (150m high).

Skyline Mansion, the three massive residential towers growing behind the JinMao will be ugly. Before they get built you are already looking forward for the day when they will get demolished ! The JinMao surroundings are going to be ruined forever.

This growing residential part of Lujiazui is very disapointing : nonsense urbanism and cheap architecture.

Shanghai, Lujiazui Skyline Mansion

Very small rendering indeed ! Does anyone has a better one ?

SKYLINE MANSION

Above the prime Lujiazui financial area, a super-class residential complex named Skyline Mansion will soon loom. The Shanghai Grand Real Estate Co Ltd has already started the construction of the three buildings. Two of the three buildings planned will be 28 storeys tall while the third will soar to 43 floors.

Living life to the fullest: Skyline Mansion

Shanghai enjoys international fame as the "Pearl of the Orient" because of its brightly illuminated skyscrapers. The futuristic Oriental Pearl TV Tower, stands as the world's third tallest TV tower. The Jinmao Tower is another famous building in the Pudong New Area.

The first pure residential property to stand shoulder to shoulder with all the above mentioned monumental landmarks is the Skyline Mansion, offering a fresh inhabitant possibility in the hottest CBD of China.

Situated in the center of Lujiazui and within 2-minute walking distance to Jinmao Tower, the Skyline Mansion has a total investment that exceeds RMB 2 billion (S$413milli
on).

There will be about 500 suites of apartments that range from 120 to 300 square meters available to both domestic and overseas buyers.

Like 'The Icon' in Singapore, the Skyline Mansion is slated to become the most sought-after residential suite of apartments in the Shanghai CBD area. Its key selling points are its location in the heart of the Lujiazui and its units offering magnificent views of the eastern and western bunds of both banks of the river.

Despite a steep price tag of US$3,000 per square meter as reported in a Hong Kong press, this high profile project has attracted strong buying interest in Shanghai and Hong Kong over the past few months, and in Singapore during its recent launch.

A new high-rise residential complex will come up at Pudong District's famed Lujiazui area, developers of the project announced yesterday.

Lujiazui is known more as a hub for finance and commerce, but Shanghai Grand Real Estate Co Ltd said it plans to build five residential towers in the area.

In the first part of the project, three buildings - 38, 39, and 43-stories high - will have a total floor area of 152,000 square meters. They will face the Jin Mao Tower and the 492-meter Shanghai World Financial Center under construction.

The first part of the Skyline Mansion will have a total of 536 apartments. Shanghai Grand Real Estate said that the units would be sold at more than US$3,000 per square meter.

Three of the five projected buildings are under construction, the next ones will probably be located on the plot besides, the one actually occupied by the WFC building yard extension. The towers heights seem uncertain and are different according to the sources.

Request....rendering of the future Pudong

Hey all! I was wondering if you can post renderings of future Pudong with the SWFC in it. Need it for planning my contingency plan in my cities at Simcity and I guess this would be a good opportunity to gather some cool future Shanghai pics as well...

Yes this tower and WFC match together. I liked the older rendering volume better, but this giant prismatic structure catching sun light anytime of the day might turn into a beautiful highlight of Pudong skyline. I never saw a building that widens up to its top that much, it might be impressive when viewed from its base too.
