I am also of the opinion one express service stopping at stations with high local or transfer traffic will suffice, and appears to be the what is under study. Beyond adding to confusion, more service patterns will increase waiting time to different services while injecting inefficiency, since frequencies will always be limited by the sector with the heaviest traffic.

1 express service is good enough. Just stop at the interchanges is good enough. So no confusion. But when LTA opens the line, they should have a good briefing and openhouse given to the public so they wouldn't get confused with the local and express services.

One issue with express services is that it requires strict train timings for it to work with normal platform layout. Hence it will be better if express services stations are fitted with additional platforms dedicated for boarding and alighting. This resolves several of the challenges that were mentioned..

The platforms can be one level deeper than the local service platforms, with additional fare gates installed to charge a "express service fee", which will help to offset additional operating and infrastructure costs.

This will also clearly segregate the local and express services, which will reduce any confusion between services. However, this means that the express services stops will need to be determined at an early stage, the rough guide of having express platforms at interchange and terminus stations is a good one.

Under AMK masterplan it was mentioned that AMK will get 2 new MRT station. Anyone know if LHL is talking about TEL line or CRL station?
