Some bigger renders of Chelsea's failed plan:

It's a shame nobody would ever build such a thing from scratch, this would have been a beautiful stadium and the most unique in the football league.

Now that both Earls Court (the best option) and Battersea Power Station options have fallen though, where next for this proposal?

I don't know west London that well but there can only be so many places you can build a 60,000ish seat stadium.

It's a shame As I thought the power station idea would have made a truly unique stadium. That area of London is pretty choker so I have no idea where they would be planning

It's a shame for Chelsea FC that it didn't happen.

But it would have been a far bigger shame (and literal shame at that) if this iconic building had been remodelled in such a manner.

I'm all for giving old buildings new uses. But not when their integrity is stripped from them.

How about New Covent Garden Market?

The area is at least 57 acres (will this be enough)

Well the government is selling and the want to redevelop the site, all Chelsea FC have to do is relocate the traders and the site is theirs...

Talking of Gasworks aren't there extensive gasworks just to the South of Stamford Bridge?

Kensal would seem to have the space but perhaps playing North of QPR might be politically unpalatable.
