Serra dos Órgãos ("Organs Range") is a mountain range in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, which was turned into a national park in 1939. It is located about a one-hour drive from the city of Rio de Janeiro. The objective of the creation of this national park was to protect the native forest on the hillsides and the fresh water springs abundant in the region.

Landscapes in the Green Coast - Rio de Janeiro | São Paulo

Atlantic Forest South-East Reserves

Costa Verde (Green Coast) is a coastline in Brazil (chiefly in Rio de Janeiro state), which runs from Itaguaí, Rio de Janeiro state, to Santos, São Paulo state. In São Paulo it is known as litoral norte (northern coast).

Brazil's Costa Verde is characterized by the Serra do Mar escarpment reaching Atlantic Ocean, creating a mountainous landscape very near the coast. Points of interest in the Green Coast include Ilha Grande, Angra dos Reis, Ilhabela and Restinga da Marambaia.

Its name derives from its characteristic abundance of green from Atlantic Forest, known in Portuguese as Mata Atlântica.

Olinda Historical Center - Pernambuco

Founded in 1537 by the Portuguese, Olinda is the neighboring and sister city of Recife. From 1630 to 1654, the region was occupied by the Dutch. The invaders burned down Olinda and created a well-planned town where present-day Recife is located. Rebuilt by the Portuguese after the Dutch rule, its basic urban fabric dates back to the 18th century, although it incorporates some older monuments.

Olinda is a town of unexpected views: one of the numerous Baroque churches and convents or the numerous chapels will appear unexpectedly as one turns a corner. The refinements of the decor of these conscious architectural structures contrasts with the charming simplicity of the houses, which are painted in vivid colours or faced with ceramic tile.

Pantanal (Wetland)

The Pantanal (Portuguese pronunciation: [pɐ̃taˈnaw]) is the world's largest tropical wetland area, and is located mostly within the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul, but it extends into Mato Grosso and portions of Bolivia and Paraguay.

Roughly 80% of the Pantanal floodplains are submerged during the rainy seasons, nurturing an astonishing biologically diverse collection of aquatic plants and helping to support a dense array of animal species.

The Cerrado, is a vast tropical savanna ecoregion of Brazil, particularly in the states of Goiás and Minas Gerais. The main habitat types of the Cerrado include: forest savanna, wooded savanna, park savanna and gramineous-woody savanna. Savanna wetlands and gallery forests are also included. The second largest of Brazil's major habitat types, after The Amazonia, the cerrado accounts for a full 21% of the country's land area (extending marginally into Paraguay and Bolivia).
