I thought we could use a thread for this development -

Planning Application

From here - http://northgate.liverpool.gov.uk/P...ins/Liverpool_WIP/Menus/PL.xml&DAURI=PLANNING

Despite the holding company name, the development is being delivered by the Elliot Group - http://www.elliotgroup.co/developments/falkner-place/

The planning application was submitted in December 2015 and was granted by committee at the meeting on 9th February 2016.

As reported by Liverpool1207 in the Planning Applications thread, we might soon have lift off -
MEE Demolition (same company who are demolishing Wolstenholme) have put their signage up around the old Toxteth Community Centre on Bedford St South.
So possibly progress on this one soon hopefully

Nice. Not that there was any doubt about this one. Just another one of the Elliot scheme;s getting on site.

The area does need a shot of the modern into it, but more importantly, some active ground floor activity. As it is, apart from just wandering up, pointing and going "Ooh, look. Old. " there's little reason to venture into the Georgian Quarter past Hope Street. This scheme will drag more people to visit the area and be introduced to the rest of canning.

The Georgian Quarter is one of the city's primary tourist attractions. The area has its own RIBA tour. The 'oh look, old' factor is what gets people there and modern style flats are a distraction. What else would you like in the heart of Canning? A night club? Leave it to the cobbles, the architecture and the quaint cafes. It has its own identity.

I meant in terms of doing something other than gawk at it for 5 minutes and drive off. It's currently a bit like the Chinese Arch. People go see it, take a photo and leave.

I'm talking about beyond Hope St or the tiny overspill where the Quarter is. We need things like small shops or offices on the ground floor of various buildings throughout Canning.
