From the Planning Explorer -

Site Address - Vine Street Depot Land bordered by Chatham Street/Myrtle Street/Vine Street Liverpool Merseyside L7 7EW
Proposal - Application for planning permission for redevelopment of former depot site comprising demolition of all existing buildings and structures on the site and selective boundary walls in Vine Street and Myrtle Street, followed by erection of two blocks of residential accommodation to construct 114 apartments, site car parking, landscaping, amenity space and associated external works
Applicant - (blank)
From here - http://northgate.liverpool.gov.uk/P...tion Details&PUBLIC=Y&XMLSIDE=&DAURI=PLANNING

This is the site in question - http://binged.it/1dgfWSn (Obviously it is an older image, as the site is now over the road from the Vine Court Eco-residences).

Good to see the development of Myrtle Street continuing.

Stunningly slow progress for 14 months work -

Not complete and already being damaged -

I do think the glossy black window panels in the gable ends look quite good in person though -

On a more positive note, I'm not 100% certain, but looking beyond the JCB, it looks like a concrete pad may have been poured. Movement on the other blocks? -

They certainly have enough building materials if it is -

Finally emerging from behind the hoardings -

Meanwhile a bit of clearance is taking place at the front of the site. An application for a part-alternative to the approved development appeared on the Planning Explorer last week, so maybe we might finally have some movement on the next part of the development? -

Documents now available.

Application Number: 16F/0303
Site Address: Land at former Vine Street Depot Land bordered by Vine Street/Myrtle Street and Chatham Street Liverpool L7 7EW
Application Type: Full Planning Permission
Proposal: To erect 8 storey, part 4 storey block, comprising 97 apartments, commercial units (A1, A2, A3, A5, B1 and D1) with associated parking and landscaping, amenity space and associated external works (part alternative to approved scheme under application 14F/0018).
Current Status: REGISTERED
Applicant: Carpenter Investments (Vine Street) Limited
The application basically seeks to add an additional 1.95m to the development, which, combined with a reduction in floor to ceiling heights, adds another floor of accommodation to the block.

The original plan would have seen 84 apartments within block A, this will now be 97 apartments, with the addition of 3 ground floor commercial units and 17 basement parking spaces. Good all round improvement I think!

The design has also been tweaked slightly and now has projecting balconies, rather than internal.

Couple of snippets from the D&A statement;

The proposed building (Block A) has been amended to reflect changing commercial requirements, interest in the development and to bring the project into a financially viable position, with the previous scheme for Block A considered to being too costly to construct without having more sustainable uses which can underpin the construction and delivery of the project.
The range of commercial uses that have shown keen interest in the client’s nearby development at the former Myrtle Parade site include restaurants, gym, book shop, coffee shop, pharmacy and crèche.
The opportunity is taken to redesign Block A, taking account of design comments received during the consultations of the previous consented scheme for the site. The current proposal seeks to increase the active frontage of the block, provide greater sense of fenestration and detailing to the block and create a new building that will sit neatly into the Myrtle Street streetscene which is dominated by the imposing Vine Court student accommodation development situated opposite the site.

The new block moving along nicely -

Zooming in hard on the above image shows an excavator hard at work in the back corner, and what look like sections of tower crane -

The excavator disappeared behind a forest of columns, so I couldn't get a better photo, but here's another look at the tower crane sections-
