Place North West.

Beardmore said: “It is very clear both from the research and from seeing the market first hand that there is pent up demand from both owner occupiers looking for high quality homes in the city to purchase and from renters looking for a quality rental product.

“There is an opportunity to expand the city centre market into surrounding areas such as the Irk Valley, Holt Town and Lower Medlock to accommodate quality homes for sale and rent.”

I think this one may have slipped the net! The continued march north eastwards within Bradford/Holt Town continues. 150 new office bods to be based at Boohoo Man on the Ashton Canal Corridor. Voldy - one for the development update?

114642/FO/2016 | Change of use from industrial use (Class B2) to office accomodation (Class B1a) formation of a mezzanine floor and associated elevational alterations | 20 Pollard Street East Manchester M40 7ET

Approved 28 June.

I remember when Holt Town was considered one of the largest projects the City would have seen - has it been placed on the back burner (for a short period) or adsorbed into other projects?

I actually thought it had gone east, sorry south and had been discarded.

Seems less grand than before then. Any this decade links would be appreciated. Maybe it will get built at the same time as the Collar site at the Etihad?

The answer is kinda both. Since the old Cibitas proposal we've had the economic downturn and then more recently the formation of Manchester Life. It made more sense for Man Life to work on filling in the gaps in Ancoats and New Islington first and they've pretty much done that now with the 6 schemes they're on site with and the 3 further schemes that have been announced. Holt Town will come next but there are still some land assembly issues to overcome and some fresh masterplanning required. It'll still be a massive project.

I thought the plan now was to make this the biggest sports university in the world?

The sports development campus will be based at the Etihad Campus not Holt Town. Has it really been said it will be the biggest sports university in the world?

I've heard the sports plans/uni campus are pretty ambitious.
New 2 x 50m pools?
