the people make the procissão das velas going from one alminha to other alminha till the final church.

Thanks for your contribution, Barra ...
 Even I don´t have any relation to religion, I like to see the Alminhas especially if they are integrated into the Muros de pedra. It makes them a unique part of local culture ... Small pormenores of local identity which shouldn´t be overlooked ...  Zip

I dont know if there is some Alminhas in Entre Douro e Minho also... and in Tras os Montes too

there are Alminhas practically around the country. They mean the things described above AND also the people who died in certain places, sometimes people build alminhas where a dear one was killed, for example, in an accident. Beautiful ones in stone above
