Ghostscraper: an abandoned skyscraper or a long-term unfinished one.

Ha, that's a good one. It's one of those things that's a genuine nice touch, but which gets incredibly lame when repeated too often.

The heroes that keep the windows of skyscrapers clean (and the installation) also deserve a mentioning.

Windowwasher has a nice sound, but is unfortunately to wide applicable. Perhaps Skycleaner? Like the one on picture on the right seems to wash the actual sky.

I was actually surprised that the alpine method was rather common. I thought the use of a gondola was standard for decades.

Skycleaner is nice. We might just ask one of these people who does this for a living and ask them how they call themselves.

Nice one. Skyscra could work as well as a term for an unfinished skyscraper.

Iīm flattered I'm mentioned.
You actually found some examples that I didn't saw even though I did some varied searches in Google. And off course, Zion was also pictured as a massive underground shaft, I haven't even thought about that one.

Just a few that still came up:

Skyntercourse? Skyguts? Skydong? Wienerscraper (instead of Wiener schnitzel )? Skyboner?

Sorry, becoming too creative when seeing these kind of pics.

Yeah, the point was that a fitting term still was to be found. I guess the explicit overstatement is not the way to go, even though it is the phallic identification that constantly returns

I admit it's fun to perceive them as sextoys for the heavens:

Btw. some people have the habit to refer to skyscrapers in general as the grand erections of corporatism and capitalism. But I think those people are the enemy of urbanism.

Heightscraper, A skyscraper that scrapes some extra meters through tricks.

In the skyscraperenthusiastscommunity there is a long ongoing debate about what defines the height of a skyscraper. Should a thin spire be included or not? And if so, is a spire the same as a antenna? Some consider it cheating to add a thin structure on top of the basic structure
and the skyscrapercommunity even invented an emoticon for addressing that 'problem'.

Heightscrapers donīt have to be bad, two of the most appreciated skyscrapers in history, the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building, were actually heightscrapering against each other with their spires. Scraping height can also be done for various reasons. Off course for being the highest building for prestige, publicity or even pride. Also various architectural reasons can be distinguished. Like the NYC Freedom Tower has a spire reaching a symbolic 1,776 feet in reference to the year of American independence. A slimmed down top as part of the overall silhouette can add to the elegance of a tower. Antennas can be just functional and are often not included in the 'architectural height'. Nonetheless, also a thin needle on top can be a aspired designelement, like in the case of the New York Times Tower and the Bank of America Tower.

^ good one. Skyscrapers with spires sticks are already on the shortlist as a height jibber, but since jibber is quite the slang, might as well just call that a height cheater.

I think i'll pass for this hobby

What about commieblock: simple concrete flat from the 60/70, constructed with little or no ornamentations. Most of the times built in series for social housing project.

Don't know if this is a clear definition, but the term itself deserves to be in the list. It is pretty common here on ssc, but not yet outside.
