Nice if only everything could be done that fast. Is the Red House done yet?

Is the crane in the 3rd pic for the Carlton Savannah, thats the only thing I know is under construction up there.

Yes it is. That one went up quickly too.

Theres another crane to the right of that one (just out of the pic) which I think is being used by the Hilton Hotel, I think they are doing refurbishing or an extension of some sort. I'm sure the imminent opening of the Hyatt in December has finally spurred them to action. Hilton has been saying they were going to refurbish for some time now.

Talking Excellence In The Making

They are moving quite quickly, its just quite amazing the scale of this development, it is absolutely huge when you put things together.. Trinidad & Tobago is really moving forward.

I have heard that the actual residence is very near completion, and i would like to see the whole premises from a birds eye view at some point.

This looks nice. The area around it looks a lil disorderly though, hopefully it will look better once the entire waterfront comes together.

don't know what its for yet, My guess would be to run advertisements of some sort downtown. Its the first big screen to go up downtown and should liven up the place at night although I agree it does look somewhat out of place as is. Probably a better place would have been on the side of the TSTT building. (where they used to hang the huge banners) A second big screen is supposed to go up at the GCP upon its completion.
If this trend keeps up it might look like time square in a while.

I do think Independence Square is great for LED Signs and big screens because of its width. But I'd like to see them along the sides of building though, not thrown up arbitrarily.

Yeah, it's kinda random to see a big screen on top of a KFC But big screens always bring a little bit more flavor to the city atmosphere.

Apparently the people over at Town and Country Planning agree that it looks out of place.
With regards to it being on top of a KFC, lol, that particular KFC is notorious for being the KFC which sold the most chicken in the world for several years running, so its no surprise that they would be the ones to put up such an expensive advertising billboard.

Questions over KFC screen

The screen looks out of place because its not incorporated into the building properly, it sticks out like a sore thumb. All they needed to do was to install it lower in that recess right below it and then make the big column with the logo on it taller to match the height . That alone would make it look much better and less ad hoc, which it looks like now, like someone said, "hey I have a bright idea lets put up a huge screen on the roof"

Trinidad & Tobago | Projects & Economy

Trinidad Receives $150 Million Loan from China for Hospital Project

Trinidad and Tobago has received a $149.6 million concessional loan from China to build the Children’s Hospital in Preysal.

The hospital will reportedly be outfitted with “state-of-the-art medical equipments for diagnosis and treatment.”

It will be a “priority healthcare facility,” according to Acting Foreign Minister Dr Roodal Moonilal.

“We are hopeful that it will also attract patients from the wider Caribbean and the Latin American region,” he said. “It is also expected to be an integral part of this government’s ‘Hospital Physical Infrastructure Development Strategy.’”

Chinese Ambassador to Trinidad Yang Youming said he hoped the loan would help improve the country’s healthcare system.
