Drove past that the other day. Meant to take a pic but forgot.Hello. Does anyone know anything about the building going up to the immediate east of the five Hill 60 towers, on the Rivervale/Belmont foreshore? There is one small banner on it saying that it is Byblos Waters (I think... the banner is half fallen down), but I have not been able to find any info anywhere. It is quite large - both wide and tall. I can see it going up from my backyard in Bayswater. It irritates me not knowing what it is every time I go out there. How can something that big not be googled in this day and age?

I've been wondering the same thing for ages now. I drive past a few times a week and its very difficult to find any info on this development...anywhere.
This is on the former Hardey Park, not Parry Field. From memory the development comprises of mostly apartments but also some office space and a few commercial tenancies.Bylboas Gardens or what ever it is called on great eastern hwy, the former site of Parry Field, Perths former Premier Baseball Field
It is the City of Bayswater...That Maylands thing looks like a throwback from the 90s. The Rudd Government should have also stipulated that councils can't erect anything with mediterranean references
Hopefully they're retaining the current library building...City of Bayswater said:$10 million grant for new centre
News & Events
The Federal Government has announced $10 million in funding for the City of Bayswater’s proposed $15 million Maylands Multi Purpose Centre.
The announcement was made by the Member for Perth, the Hon Stephen Smith MP, on a visit to the Alma Venville Recreation Centre in Maylands.
Acting Mayor, Cr Michael Sabatino, expressed delight at the news and said the new Maylands Multi Purpose Centre will provide significantly enhanced facilities for the community.
“The Centre will be a magnificent resource that will provide the local community with access to modern community and recreational facilities.
“Its construction will also provide employment opportunities for local people and a boost for the local economy.
“This really is a great win for the City and for the people of Maylands and I want to thank the Member for Perth for his support for the project.”
The new centre will comprise two sports halls, a new library and significantly enhanced amenities, including a youth space and meeting rooms suitable for use by a wide range of community groups.
The proposed centre will be developed on the corner of Eighth Avenue and Guildford Road on the site that includes the Alma Venville Centre and Maylands Library.
“This is a key project that will help the City to deliver our vision for the future of Maylands as a suburb rivalling the likes of Subiaco and East Perth for quality of lifestyle,” Acting Mayor Sabatino says.
“We were absolutely delighted to hear that we would receive the full $10 million applied for under the Government’s regional and local community infrastructure programme.
Work on designing the facility is already underway. With funding now in place, work on the new centre will commence as soon as the design phase is completed.
They are demolishing the Alma Venville Recreation Centre at the beginning of August, but leaving the site empty until early January, when construction of the new centre will begin. The library building will remain intact. It is the City of Bayswater...
