Now that NCR has its own forum, I think it'll be best to break the NCR thread down to 5 new threads.

This thread will be used to track all the development and projects coming up in Gurgaon and the burb of Manesar which is located below Gurgaon.

Yeah there's a lot of haphazard construction going on there with Santa Clara layouts being promoted by every other residential group. Gurgaon can be dusty and the infrastructure is not great. Btw, if all goes well, you might just get to ride the DLF LRT in cybercity in 2011.

I believe the traffic situation has become better since it's no longer in the news for the jams that it had initially witnessed. There aren't any local dilliwallas on the forum who travel to Gurgaon using the expressway so you'll have to ask someone else regarding the average traveling time.

More Sectors In New Gurgaon Municipal Map

The Haryana Cabinet has earmarked the boundaries of the proposed Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon. The new map includes an area measuring about 100 sq kilometres. It has both existing townships and those to be developed by private and state agencies like the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) and falling inside the proposed north-eastern expressway and Delhi- Gurgaon border A portion of the special economic zone at Khirki Daula is also part of the new map for the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon.

In a major shift from its earlier decision made on January 2 this year, the Haryana Cabinet, however, dropped all the colonies earmarked beyond northern-eastern expressway (in Master Plan 2021) such as the Industrial Model Township (IMT) at Manesar and other residential and commercial sectors from the new map of the proposed civic body Earlier, it was decided that it would also comprise the entire geographical area (all new 58 sectors) falling under the already notified Gurgaon-Manesar Urban Complex 2021. IMT, Manesar, was developed by the Haryana State Industrial & Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC).

The new map included sectors 23, 22, 21, 20, 25A, 24, 26, 26A, 42, 54, 55 and 111 bordering Delhi. In east-southeast, HUDA sectors 55, 56, 57, 50, 49, 48, 71, 73, 74, 74A situated along the proposed eastern peripheral expressway In west-northwest side, sectors 37D, 100, 101, 104, 105, 110 and 110A and a portion of the special economic zone in Khirki Daula.

Just how many Mall does Gurgaon need , I would have thought that the Mile Mall or whatever it is called would put a temporary halt to this crazy mall growth but Nop.

Gurgaon has little by way of Power and Water , how is the govt. then supplying these malls with such necessities while households struggle for them , no planning and mindless construction will only lead to a very poor city in the future.

Apr 6: Alpha G:Corp Hands over Benchmark Eco-friendly Residential Complex, 'GurgaonOne' to the Owners

The complex has been designed to be eco friendly -

Apr 25: The green house effect

Move over swimming pools and health clubs - eco-friendly is the new must-have in the high-end residential sector.

GurgaonOne is typical of the premium residential complexes coming up all over this IT boom town. Spread over 10 acres on the old Delhi-Jaipur highway next to a proposed world-class golf course, it holds out the promise of a life of plush comfort to residents of its 240 apartments, villas and penthouses.

With one difference — the developer, Alpha G:Corp, has incorporated several "eco-friendly" features in its design and construction. All through the initial excavation and construction, care was taken to minimise impact on the surroundings. Large trees on the site were left undisturbed or replanted, the site was watered regularly to reduce dust, and grid paving was used to prevent soil erosion.

Among GurgaonOne's other "green" features are silent and pollution-free DG sets and a 300 kilolitres/day sewage treatment plant which will recycle water to be used to irrigate the 2.03 acre green patch adjoining the built area. Besides, there are six wells that will help recharge the water table.

The common area lighting is a mix of direct beam lighting which consumes less energy but creates glare and diffused illumination which consumes more energy but emits soothing light. The company is also considering solar power, informs Reshmi Sen, Alpha G:Corp's marketing head. The double-airconditioning ducts are custom-made to ensure 10-15 per cent power-savings, there are energy-efficient windows, plus humidity vents and triple filtering systems for fresh ionised air.

Green buildings are not a new phenomenon with the Indian Green Building Congress calculating that there are around 70 million sq ft of green space built/being built in India. But hitherto, green projects have mainly been commercial spaces. There are two reasons for this.

One, the higher cost of energy-efficient materials and eco-friendly practices which, in the price-conscious residential sector, can't be passed on to customers. At GurgaonOne, it was a high 15-20 per cent of the project cost. Two, green buildings are not just about design and building, the green features have to be maintained.

you know what gurgaon 1 is one of "the" finest projects ever done in gurgaon so far.....super kool those apartments are

I went to Gurgaon today after quite some time and was surprised to see what a concrete jungle it has become , I don't have the pictures to support that argument however it's quite incredible the construction activity seems to have increased 4 fold in the past year or so .

Especially with the brand new expressway now smooth , Metro construction in full swing and permission Auto's to operate in NCR , the connectivity issues seem to be receding very nicely indeed.

And finally Delhi NCR seems to be building up it's own skyline.
