Finally, any safe-guarding for such schemes would need to be a part of official policy of interested parties, which it isn't. Therefore any attempt to block this development on the grounds of HS2 into Exchange would not stand up at all.

Also, while we all hope for a positive outcome for HS2 and Liverpool, I might just point out the lower end of London Road, and what can happen when safeguarding of land for a planned, but highly ambitious transport project, gets in the way of regeneration.
Let me clarify. It was more of an observation than anything. Something of the size and stature of three 34 story towers in the centre of the city should not be impeded by the (un)likelihood of possible future rail infrastructure which, at this stage, is highly speculative at best.

The fact remains though that we are spending millions safeguarding the adjacent bridge/tunnel over Great Howard Street, and we have already sold ourselves short as a city by building over infrastructure that would later have proven to be invaluable, e.g., the old rail link from Seaforth to Fazackerley would have mean no problems with rail access to the Port of Liverpool (although perversely, if this link still existed it would probably have reduced the demand for extra rail capacity serving the city which might yet see a dedicated HS2/Northern Rail link built to connect the city with London/the rest of the north.

It's not as if the area immediately adjacent to the north of the city centre is short of available land that is ripe for development. Rhetorical question perhaps, but could the same scheme be cited (or designed) to future proof against any possible transport developments? I do think a more coherent plan for the wider area - including plans for attracting commercial developments - is required regardless.

I don't like the mirror finish. I like the silhouette but not the cladding at all.

This development is 1,000 units! He isn't going to sell it using off plan sales. He will work with a PRS Fund, same as heaps rice mill.

This isn't a PRS development. Build for sale.

Joe's statement re: WHS should mean this is ok. That said, I'd expect it to lose floors anyway but with Joe's statement if the officer tried to reduce by too muxh, Elliott would just have to put a call in and the officer wouldn't work for LCC anymore.

This development now has a name - 'Infinity'. Along with the new name, there's also a new render -

That render looks brilliant. It actually reminds me of standing next to the old World Trade Centre buildings in NY. Great stuff.

Love what I've seen of this development so far. Potentially really growth for the city centre and a car show room occupying the retail unit would be ideal for that area. Hopefully changing the idea that showrooms need to be in one storey shed style units.

Watch out - there's only 16 and a bit storeys in that render - maybe its been cut down to World Heritage proportions.
