Quite wide! But love it!

I guess anything we build will look quite bloated considering our last spurt of 'talls' where all quite slender and only faced the river.

The renders from Wallasey there show how vital the Costco site is to creating a coherent connection between Liverpool Waters and the existing CBD. How much are its owners holding out for, I wonder?

I would love to see some renders with these, the two new ones proposed for over the road and the princess dock developments all thrown in (along with china town/north point and X1), you would think it would be something the council would look to create as an advertisement for the city.

I like the view from birkenhead ferry, shows real good massing.

These renders are brilliant love some of the vantage points being used. Especially Magazine lane, Lime Street, Leeds Street and Parkland at Pall Mall. In a few years time coming into the city both from the sea and rail visitors will be met with a view that shows the city is on the up again. What amuses me though is that we have seen more movement in terms of development immediately outside the Liverpool Waters site than within it. Shame the same can not be said for Wirral Waters. However when Liverpool Waters does eventually start to come together which fingers crossed should be soon , we will certainly have an impressive streetscape and more importantly an enhanced skyline.

This won't be approved because it spoils the outline of West Tower from Birkenhead Ferry - or something like that. I hope I'm wrong though as it looks great.

The new road from Leeds Street to the Princes Dock will effectively bypass Costco - I wonder if that will be the push to get them to sell up?

Why would anyone give a damn about West Tower?

I do believe he was being sarcastic here. Although usually such things are rejected or reduced in height due to some sight lines from Woodside which tend to move or change on a whim from English Heritage

I'm aware of his scarcasm an why it exists. Its the exact 'joke' that is always spouted in this situation. Its stupid so it gets a matter of fact response. He knows full well sight lines to Pier Head and the Cathedrals are protected. Not any old trash.

I love how much good energy you bring to this forum. Its very uplifting. (You'll probably know I'm being sarcastic here too). Lighten up a little - it won't hurt.

Because it is a symbol of economic growth and a key part of the city skyline. It's our only bona fide skyscraper by current definitions. Just because you don't like new buildings doesn't mean it's not a vital cog in the view from Wirral. In fact if you take it away, the skyline looks ridiculously small.

West Tower is our finest tall. In terms of height, materials, form and mixed usage.

Back to thread though... surely Elliot has to make a start on Heaps Mill and the tower he has planned there before he tackles a triple skyscraper.
