There's actually quite a lot of shopping in the area with TriBeCa, the Oculus and Brookfield nearby. And restaurants and bars, again, TriBeCa just a few blocks away, not to forget Brookfield, which is turning into a destination in its own rights.
As far as the highway, this is NYC, we're used to traffic noise at any time of the day, so that wouldn't bother me.
Not saying it's my favorite residential neighborhood, but I wouldn't mind living there.
Let's not forget Hudson River Park nearby either.

I like it. This tower is both simple and elegant.

I sure like how the area north of the WTC is getting visually crowded but i surely hate the blue blank wall that is visible from the tribeca royale building in the skyline. I hope this is just a protective foil or so.

It definitely looks like a layer that hasn't been finished. But overall the Tribeca Royale does not look too great IMO.

It is beginning to peek out the skyline! It is slightly taller than the Verizon Building behind it so I would estimate it is currently between 160-170 meters tall (525-558 feet) or around 40 floors!

Carter Reviews KPF's 111 Murray Street; Now 47 Floors Up & 70% Sold
February 8, 2017
Quote:
With its “apostrophe” top and slightly flaring vertical slits, an elegant, 58-story tower is now rising at 111 Murray Street along West Street. It has all the allure and sexiness of an irresistible, slim and sophisticated dragon-lady.

I don't think these photos are from February... still nice to know this thing only has 11 floors left until the crown gets built, in my picture from Feb 4 there are like 10/11 floors above the Mechanical floor (???) And in your Pictures there are like 5

New Photos Capture Rise of 111 Murray Street in Manhattan
Quote:
A new gallery of construction photos highlights the glazed facade and curved floor plates of 111 Murray Street in New York City, accompanying news that the tower is 70 percent sold. The luxury tower by Fisher Brothers and The Witkoff Group features a Kohn Pedersen Fox design that climbs 58 storeys and nearly 800 feet above the busy streets of Manhattan.

The construction reminds me a lot of 50 West Street.

I like 50 West better too; the glass on this looks a little dark in person.

This location is way better than 50 West though.
