That crack exist only in the hard shoulder towards north. After the motorway was opened, a shallow canal was dug and a optical fiber is put there.

The company that build the albanian parts of the highway is the same that build the kosovo parts, because the kosovo parts look much better.

Nice picture
Seeing signage of the road connected to the motorway is always as interesting as seeing signage in a new motorway.

Work has started, pretty intensively, in the three last sections of the so-called "Highway of the Nation". I am talking about sections 7, 8 and 9 the "Ibrahim Rugova" motorway R7.

Sections 7, 8 and 9 of the R7 motorway run from south of Prishtina, taking a curve on the West and will end up in the North of Prishtina. You can see in the map below the approximate route of these three sections.

Sections 8 and 9 of the R7 in the same time represent the Prishtina Bypass. I have drawn sections 8 and 9 with red color, and the section 7 in green color.

Also, in the map below I have put the future motorway Prishtina-Skopje (in blue), that will start to be constructed this year.

REMARK. This map is not 100% accurate, since I have drawn it based on my observings in the sites. There is no transparency about the project...

Aha, so they are actually building a new east-west motorway south of the already 2x2 M9. I was wondering if this project stalled because M9 seemed somewhat sufficient for the time being.

The part of M9 that is being avoided, is a 2X2 highway. It does not have controlled access, and runs through Prishtina suburbs.

Also, M9 now is more busy, since the R7 is diverted to M9, it sucked the traffic towards Prizren (second largest city in Kosovo) and Albania.

That is correct. So, the pale green colored Section 7 was cropped. Above map does not reflect this change. M9 gets linked to Route 6 and Route 7 via a 1.5 km link road.

It seems that you are well informed. Can you please tell us where did you get this information or who decided to crop the section 7 of R7?

No information is available in the Kosovo motorway Bechtel's and Enka website (which is BS website for a billion USD project) or in the Kosovo's roads Ministry.

Thank you in advance.

Sorry for little off topic question but I need some trusted information which I belive can get here.

Is it still impossible to cross the border between Kosovo and Serbia if I enter Kosovo from Macedonia? There is a lot of information in the Internet but they seem to be outdate (2009/2010 most of them). Also on one page I found info that border guards may no notice or rather care about it. I would like to cross it thru road number 9 if it's possible without detour back to Macedonia.

EU citizens can enter Serbia with an ID card since last year. So you can't get a stamp and no one really could check where you entered Serbia. So you shouldn't have a problem at that "border" if you use your ID card instead of your passport (if you have one).

Hey do you know if there are people actually working on the motorway Prishtine-Peje (M9) and what they plan to do with it. Brand new pictures would be really appreciated. (2013 information please) :P

A fresh video (6 May 2013) from the new stretch (inaugurated last November), stretching from the village of Duhel in the municipality of Suharekë, all the way to the intersection with M9 Prishtinë - Pejë. I believe this is the first video on this thread showing the complete 20 kilometeres completed late last year.

It's this stretch:

That is one good-looking motorway.

Did you use the Youtube "shake fix" option? The video quality is good but it made me a bit sea sick

I did see it, and used it too but I think it did more harm than good... I used a Nikon D7000 to record it and while the quality is great, it's simply too sensitive to vibration and shakes. I might cancel the YouTube "shake" thing because it did more harm than good in this one it seems. Thanks.
