Indeed, that's what i'm pointing though. It's very hard to take night shots wthout tripod. You must not shake the camera and for that Georges' pics are indeed very good!

I am very happy that at last we have seen many pictures from this modern boulevard which is systematically badmouthed by the Greek Media and which, in my view is becoming very interesting since it constitutes a different model of development altogether, especially with the imminent addition of the new shopping and entertainment centres, now under construction.

One of the most interesting spots is the intersection of Kifissias Avenue with the Attica Road, the main Athens ring road system, which forms a big roundabout also known as "the cake".

The only problem is that although there seems to be some activity going on there, I see not even a hint for a skyscraper construction . However, there seem to be quite some notable office developments there.

Some more pics:

1. -This one (C) from the Athens 2004 Olympic Games Committee with a very nice view of "the cake" and the 18-storey Greek Telecom Building (OTE)clearly visible next to it:

2- Looking from one side of "the cake" towards the OTE building shortly after the full completion of the junction (2002).

3. Looking towards the Atrina Centre and "Monumental Plaza", all built by the Babis Vovos SA Constructions company

4. Looking at another array of buildings built by the Babis Vovos group.

Again, this is a superb thread and I wish it develops further, as regardless of what the traditionalists have to say, I believe that Kifissias IS a jewel. And thanks for the wonderful pictures George. I hope mine help illustrate this very interesting spot of our city which puts a new perspective on how we view Athens overall.

George, beware of security guards as I have been asked many times what I am doing while I was taking pictures of the buildings. Nice pictures too, keep them coming. I took some too, which I hope I will post some time next week

I would love to see the Pictures that you took (and I am sure I am not the only one ) as for me I am planning to start take some pictures to the oposite direction ( you know after Ygias ) and down to halandri, psichiko.... there I did notice some nice buildings as well

It is one of the main avenues of Athens connecting the city center with the northern suburbs (the suburb of Kifissia is situated at the end of this road and gives it's name to the avenue).Along both sides of this avenue ,there many "rich" quarters of the city and great part of the city's business center with modern buildings(this would have been probably the highscrapper district of the city...but as you know building highscrappers in Athens is forbidden ). This is also the main access road to the Olympic Stadium...
