This application for 148 apartments looks to have been submitted without the Sherborne Wharf element which appeared as one development in the consultation leaflet.
That proposal included a 10 storey block fronting Canal Square.
Like the look of this, site as been empty for decades literally, but we should be seeing a "sister" application shortly from what the consultation leaflet hints at, giving a new canalside development too.

So the second app that nigeman talks about is due later on in the year. I suppose that could be any time really but I hope it`s sooner rather than later because I`m a greedy *******.

Wow yet more proposals for this site. 2 apps for apartments then 30 or so town houses with fantastic looking blue brick with Cala pure speculation, now back to apartments with a different developer. So far a waste of a prime site. This area has so much potential being in close proximity to Broad St & Brindley Place. I have lived & sold in this area, sandwiched between this and Old Union Mill another wasted opportunity. This time I really hope something gets built.

Not sure if this is from that site, but saw purple hoardings with a yellow building on Sherborne Street.

Number One Sherborne Gate

There was more purple hoardings leading up to Grosvenor Street West, but didn't take a photo of that lot.

According to Business Desk West Midlands today, this scheme is due for planning approval on the proviso the developer can make a financial contribution to off-site amenity space.

As stated in the general development thread, I think the below is 'part 2' of what is being discussed above. Not sure it's worth creating a new thread for though:

2017/08095/PA

Demolition of existing buildings except Psonex House, 87 Apartments spread over 3-10 storeys...

Some of the apartment blocks around this area are shocking, this looks quality on the other hand.

Yeah I agree, cheap tat put up in a hurry some of them, but this looks along the lines of the higher quality proposals we have seen recently on Bradford Street.
