Debenhams said that its products will be well cheaper than Myer and David Jones.

It will open on the coming Tuesday in St Collins Lane.

Melbourne's luxury market is literally booming!

Would love to see a Goyard store here, I think Melbourne is well suited for the brand. They don't have many stores so it would be a major coup.

Yeah. Literally, Melbourne has been the capital of fashion and skyscrapers in Australia.

except the CBD already has a H & M. Why would I travel out on a tram to go to another one? District Docklands needs to have unique shopping opportunities that incentivise people to travel there.

This H&M is designed for customers living in Docklands. It's correct to introduce this brand to Docklands.

Itís very common in most European cities to have 2 or 3 H&M Stores to close proximity to each other, so nothing really new here. Iím sure it will do well...

if I was living in Vic Harbour or Yarra's Edge id catch a tram into the city (an extra few minutes) to go shopping. It makes more sense to me to. If I was living in NewQuay id head to District Docklands... but surely they want more than just locals.

I agree. I recalled that there were plans to build a pedestrian bridge at Victoria Harbour that connects to New Quay. I think itís a brilliant idea and now that HarbourTown is undergoing such a great transformation...they should definitely turn the plan into a reality as it will make walking the area more convenient . Instead of walking section by section or towards a Ďdead endí, tourist and locals can walk around and explore, shop and dine at the different Docklands area all at once and easily.
The bridge would also make a great spot to take photo of the CBD.

I found an article dating back to 2010 about the bridge proposal: http://www.docklandsnews.com.au/edit...l-report_9548/

Well there are hotels popping up in that area now, something that the area lacked (despite having Mercure etc.. which were more serviced apartments then hotel), there's already the Four Points by Sheraton directly opposite and the Marriott to be built directly adjacent to the centre and the Park Royal at The Altus (whenever that gets built!).

With these hotels being built, it will definitely lighten up the area and make it abit more "touristy", because they will definitely be looking for something to do close by, some time during their stay.

But having H&M alone won't draw the crowds in, there needs to be 2 more anchor brands to really draw in crowds. If only the Paramount theme park was built, something like Harbour Town could have been the "Downtown Disney" of the precinct.
