Traffic flowing down Reid would be able to continue onto Tonkin without the need to slow down that much.
You're forgetting the Perth-Darwin Hwy (i.e. northern extension of Tonkin Hwy)

I would also like them to upgrade the Mitchell and Reid interchange. That's will be the next black spot for traffic!

They should have these in Brisbane not just for the bus...

There are lots of dedicated cycle lanes on the roads. One along Hamilton Road in Chermside is good, but they get the same green as the car user does. Buses have their own dedicated lights at many intersections across the place with jump lanes. This would be benefit for cyclists to get through to save the anger of waiting for cyclists to pass an intersection if a car wants to turn into a road where their path lies.

Dedicated lights like that are a great idea. Thanks for sharing your picture.

Does that mean bikes can go when buses go, or all things that begin with B can go, except for bicycles, or bikes can completely disregard the signals at this intersection at all times?

It is supposed to mean that bikes can go when the buses do but what it actually means is that bikes can completely disregard the signals. Main Roads not thinking things through...

It wouldn't surprise me if the intersection first opened without the sign and someone pointed out that bikes were legally prohibited from going straight ahead due to the B signals

Obvious answer is to put in bike signals next to the 'B' signals but obviously nobody thought that through before preparing the signal design

The reason people support the airport line ahead of msx is because they can see the immediate benefits. The main benefits to MAX are long term and outside the range of Joe Bloggs vision. The Airport line provides Joe with the comfort of knowing he could take a train to the airport for his flight to Bali, but he'll still drive his Commodore there anyway.
