Chicagoland Interstate Traffic Trends

Hello everyone...I would like some information from you Chicagoland folks.

I live in Milwaukee but I am about to expand my service business to Chicagoland. Basically, I will need to drive to appointments in the Chicago area from Milwaukee.

I am interested in learning about your interstate traffic trends...and I would like to avoid doing it the hardway. Toll Ways and their fees?

Info like daily congestion trends, what interstate section, what times they typically occur and what time they ease up. Also info about road construction and maybe detours that you have found work best.

I figure you guys know it best!

Well, basically you will run into gridlock from say about Kenosha right down the Edens "Expressway" and into the Kennedy. Seriously, traffic sucks on most expressway arteries from about 7AM to 9:30AM, then again from 11:30AM to about 1PM, and finally, from 3:30 to 7PM. If it happens to be raining or snowing, then forget about it.
I drove from the Northside to downtown Milwaukee for a Brewers game last year in about 1 hour and 10 minutes. I would also invest in an IPASS to avoid toll traffic. I think it's about 30 dollars, not quite sure, since I usually take public transit.

Here is a good link that might help;

Not bad, Northside to Milwaukee in 1 hour and 10 minutes. I remember one crappy day it took me 2 hours to go from Ohio to the Edens on my way to Milwaukee.

Remember last winter, when we had that one snow in December that hit during the evening rush? Travel times were up to 3 hours from the Loop to O'Hare, and I specifically recall the radio saying 300 minutes from the Loop to Woodfield!

How far into the City would you be traveling? Or would it be suburbs?
