I don't get the hate with Mineral House, there are far worse ugly buildings at the end of Queen Street near Aurora. I also hate QR rail needs demolition or a total makeover.

As for Skytower, I can't agree with the New York look but I'll change my mind when it's done. We will see.

Mineral House would make a fine conversion to a 4 star hotel sometime in the future. I quite like the QR centre, I've mentioned previously that its like Brisbane's own little Barbican Centre. A little bit of brutalism in the CBD, should be heritage listed

I think Locke was referring to a mix of the young and the old when he mentioned New Yorkish look.

I agree.
It's where ugly goes to die.
Skytower should change this in the next couple of years.

That's probably the first photo where I've thought Skytower's facade has actually looked good, up to now it's been a bit uninspiring.

Today.

I haven't had a close look at the floor number, but the construction seems to have really slowed lately.

You did indeed, as it was just emerging from the core box over the weekend.

I really would like to see some distinctive lighting on this one but I guess that won't happen. Not too much they can do with the top.

Random question a bit off topic (sorry) but what artwork was installed as part of 1 William Street? Given .25% of the total budget needs to be spent on public artwork?

There's a good reason for the core slowing down where it is - the jump form has reached the first sky lobby and the core walls reconfigure in this area. I believe there are also some outrigger walls at these levels as well.
