Good find.

We could do worse but I am hoping for something a little more special.

And I also suspect that the use of the word 'aimed' probably does not indicate it is the winner though it is ambiguous.

OK, I've decided: if the winner of the design comp. for 44 O'Dea Avenue should turn out to be Crone Architects, I will not be disappointed as it is, in fact, a pretty cool Late Modernist design and will relate well to Emblem Tower and The Tower Residences nearby.

They'll have good views into Emerald's pool. (It's between those trees and The Reserve buildings)

My neighbor...

I pity the people who bought into this building not aware that the Lachlan-McEvoy St realignment which will remove that park fronting Lachlan St. I know you should conduct your own due diligence whenever you buy something like this, but some mightn’t be savvy enough or just aware enough of these kind of things.

I agree, it’s they same with my building when I mention the proposed tram line out the front of our building right at their balconies they look horrified. Although that’s been planned ( by CoS) for a good 10 years. The Lachlan St realignment has been on the cards for in excess of 30 years.

It is a Real Worry, especially as people such as these often are at the vanguard of protests against planned & publicised changes & developments that they would have known about if they had done even superficial research. The childish cry of 'Why wasn't I told?' or some similar variant goes up but whose responsibility is it if not their own to investigate?

I read an article a while back in which the writer stated that his research showed many people spent more time and effort researching their new tv than they did researching their purchase of a house/apartment despite the latter being the largest single purchase they will make.

Caveat emptor.

ZETLAND

PARAGON

Link Road, Epsom Road & Southern Cross Drive.

Architect: TURNER + ASSOCIATES...one of their better, later designs imho.

PART THREE

EPSOM or SOUTH BUILDING
Originally the Tower was the most problematical part of the project as it started out at 22 storeys but got whittled back to 14 storeys* with each new proposal over the years, and this project was first proposed a decade ago. Now that it is finally constructed, the Epsom building is the most contentious in the complex as its cheeky use of colour arouses either hate or love, rarely anything in between.

*by an entity whose name I cannot tell you but its initials are 'City of Sydney Council' in its endless quest to behead towers.**

The public plaza off Link Road: a disappointment as half of it looks more like a carpark than a public plaza, and the landscaping in the other half looks pretty ordinary so far.

The eastern end of the Epsom building where it abuts Southern Cross Drive.

The central part of the building from the plaza.
NB Cantilevered balconies with trees.

Looking toward Link Road across the plaza.

The through passage from the plaza to Epsom Road.

Looking west along Epsom Road.

The western end at the intersection of Epsom & Link roads.

Looking from the intersection of Epsom & Link roads to the plaza and central buildings.

** So I lied about the initials..
