most European cities are a lot more varied than american ones. If "museum cities" like London and Paris can have skyscrapers, then any other european one can have them too, proportionate to the city's size obviously
Milan can have some, but they must not have too many, nor should it be too tall.
Anyway, it is nice they are getting some modern buildings, quite a contrast though.
See Andrew in Milan we are realizing a lot of skyscraper over 100 meters.
Il Dritto 220 m.
Torre Hines 215 m.
Milanone 212 m.
Storto 190 m.
Milanofiori sud 2 tower 180 m. high
Curvo 170 m
Altra sede 161 m
Varesine 1 150 m.
Varesine 2 140 m.
and goes on...
Are you from SA? Which cities Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth...Which one?
Hi,
I am really impressed with Milan skyscraper (and not only) development. It is very surprising that so many office towers are build in Milan – economical capital of Italy, the country where GDP growth within last 15 years was close to “zero”. Also demographic figures are not so much positive, when we compare to England or France…
Are those investments the result of reforms of Italian economy which changes from industrial oriented into service, R&D, BPO, finance sectors?
Reducing everything to a point of GDP, which then is not an index of wealth, it seems to me wrong. In Italy there is a sub-economy based on resources (see Abruzzo, which was not the land of industries, but its economy was based on university, with one of the most important universities in Italy).
However ... in general economic terms ... GDP covers the whole Italy, but if the only concern GDP Milan, would be the highest in Europe
