When planning a vacation in the Philippines, we normally tend to overlook places that are out of the common tourist radar. Given the popularity of local destinations such as Palawan, Boracay, Cebu and Bohol, it’s understandable why travelers prefer to spend their holidays at these well-established vacation spots.

But if there ever comes a time you get the urge to discover new frontiers and go somewhere undeveloped, rustic, wild or maybe even mysterious… read on to find out why Dinagat Islands should be on top of that list.

Blessing and Inauguration of new Division Office

May 21, 2014 was a red-letter day in the DepEd, Dinagat Islands Division for the Blessing and Inauguration of new Division Office. Finally it had acquired its own two-storey Division Office building after six years of its existence.
The celebration was officially opened with the cutting of ribbon and unveiling of worker spearheaded by the distinguished guest the Regional Director, Atty. Alberto T. Escobarte with the OIC-ARD, Dr. Rebecca V. Delapuz, CESO V; Vice Governor of Dinagat representing Governor Glenda B. Ecleo, Hon. Benglen B. Ecleo; First Governor Hon. Geraldine “Jade” B. Ecleo; Municipal Mayors and Vice Mayor of Dinagat, Hon. Rosalio E. Lisondra and the SB Members; OIC-SDS Marilou B. Dedumo, CESE; OIC-ASDS Karen L. Galanida, CESE; SDS Teofila G. Cabatuan; Education Program Supervisors; Division Personnnel; District In-charge; School Heads in Secondary and Elementary and party.
The blessing of the office was done thereafter by Rev. Fr. Almario C. Ramada Jr., DCS, parish priest of the Roman Catholic in the Municipality of Dinagat with the guests from the DepEd Regional Office and LGU Officials headed by Vice Governor Benglen B. Ecleo. Wherefore the office has been occupied and would never waver to serve henceforth.
It’s a relief for all Dinagatnons to have this dream come true. This is a manifestation of the collaborative effort of the DepEd and LGU. The supports from Congresswoman Arlene “Kaka” Bag-ao and Governor Glenda B. Ecleo mark difference in the history of the Province of Dinagat Islands, where its constituents are proud of this achievement.
This significant celebration would not be that memorable and meaningful without the witty and committed workers who toiled for day and after the event. Thank you so much District In-charge and school heads for the artistic and beautiful display centers which adds beauty to our Division office.[/IMG]
