When is the expected soft launch of the CONDOTEL? Any information on who will manage Grand Cenia? If this has already been answered previously I appologize. This thread is so long and I do not speak Visaya that I cannot find the information. I am a condotel unit owner and eveyone I speak with in FLI gives me different answers.

Can anyone provide photos of inside the building, to include the ammenities? Any Condotel rooms completed yet? Does anyone have photos of the design of the condotel rooms?

According to my brother-in-law who is with EastWest Bank, the name of Grand Cenia will be changed.

He forgot the exact new name but it will have the word "West" in it. Dili pod cguro EastWest, ehehehehe...

Turnover will be this coming September 2011.

The new regional headquarters of EastWest Bank will also open at the ground floor on September 2011.

Maybe "Quest Hotel" ? Aston's website lists that as opening in Cebu soon, and I also found a reference to it here - says it will be only a 3 Star :-(


EDIT: Did some more googling and found that Quest Hotel is in Mactan, so it's not Grand Cenia (or whatever it's going to be called).

yes. the original name was El Banco Espa˝ol de Filipinas de Isabel II and is the oldest banking institution in the Philippines and Southeast Asia. The Bank Director was Antonio de Ayala, one of the founders of Casa Roxas Distillery of 1834 (the first business partnership venture of Domingo Roxas and Antonio de Ayala). It was later changed to El Banco Espa˝ol de Filipinas when Isabel II was dethroned in 1868. and it became Banco de las Islas Filipinas (Bank of the Philippine Islands) up until this day.

Updated management info

Here's some new info regarding the operation and management of the building:
  • The Hotel is going to be called the "Quest Hotel and Conference Center, Cebu".
  • The building is going to be called "Grand Cenia Condominium".
  • The hotel is only going to be a 3-star rating (5-star was promised in the sales materials).
  • There will be no gym or fitness facilities (these were promised in the sales materials).
  • Access to pool and other hotel facilities will cost extra for residential unit owners - "hotel membership" - rates not yet published.
  • Mandatory association joining fee is PHP 250 / sq m (unit area). Seems ok.
  • Building management dues are 70 PHP / sq m / mo excluding insurance and taxes. It is unclear to me how this is calculated as unit owners pay a proportion based on their unit size. Surely hotel / commercial should be paying higher dues than residential? Either way, this seems very high.

Are these sorts of deviations from the sales materials normal? I find them significant and I'm pretty disappointed, especially the lack of gym and 3-star hotel.
