Pretty sure this is something push/pull process related, like you said, and will be replaced with something more bridge-like here

My first thoughts was "Mormons!".

kind of puts into perspective the size of the bridge compared to an existing tram that's in at Station Street. You could almost imagine it travelling across if that wooden blockade wasn't there

Excellent pics, much obliged.

Please can we have some sign of tracks on University Boulevard? I want something interesting to look at on the way to work rather than the big piles of dirt we have at the moment!

I think all that dirt is for preloading - they expect the ground to settle quite a lot there so they're trying to get the settlement in now before they put the tram tracks down...

The work schedule I have seen has trackwork on Uni Blvd starting in July...; trackwork across the network is expected to ramp up a lot starting next month.

Imagine having skyscrapers to the left of the bridge and to the right close to where the church is. I always think nottingham has so much potential yet were lagging behind other cities

If it helps, if all goes according to plan there will be the shiny new college building just to the right of the tram in that picture (with people playing footballon the roof!)

Not exactly a skyscraper, but a great addition to the skyline.

Just as CharlieP has suggested, here are few photos of the station tram bridge taken from the top of the car park. I have to apologize for the quality (photos were accidentally taken using my phone), hope to give some more picturesque images next weekend. LArger version are available on click.

An impressive structure but I can't help but think that the bridge from the QMC will be the signature bridge.

It won't be as impressive; it'll just be seen by more people.

I agree, the A52 bridge will be more striking but the setting of that bridge allows it to be. If the bridge at the station were any taller or bigger it would over-power the station structure and look all out of proportion. I think it fits well with the surroundings as well as being a nod to the past as well.

Indeed, it is quite reminiscent of the old bridge.
