https://www.facebook.com/rpbkohkrabey/

Hard to believe but there are 40 villas, 2 restaurants, staff office and mechanical buildings on that island. Amazing job! Same cannot say about Royal Sands development at Koh Rong. They have bulldozen plenty of forrest out of their way

Sihanoukville will soon be similar to Pattaya, and Otres is similar to Jomtien ((

But Sihanoukville lacks entertainments (except casinos). Pattaya is most famous for its nightlife activities and diverse entertainments offer, either you come alone or with your family - botanical garden, theme parks, shopping centers, temples etc.

But that is the problem all over Cambodia. And because of this Cambodia is still secondary destination (tourist goes Thailand/Vietnam and as a secondary destination they will do few days trip to Cambodia). Siem Reap you have Angkor Wat and Sihanoukville you have the islands, but both are lacking severely in shopping, entertainment and nightlife that would keep the (western) tourist full week in country.

I would take second any time. There were plans that combine thai and cambodian tours. We are a poor country and not in a position to compete with vietnam or thailand.

sihanoukville looks like phnom penh 8 short years ago. i had a feeling that this city would have the most potential outside of phnom penh.

It'll become a mini Phnom Penh if both population and tourist arrival growth can accelerate. If I am not mistaken the next largest city is Battambang, and Sihanoukville has a population not yet reaching 200,000.

It seems there is not much going in Battambang. At least in our forum here. There may be some level of activities going there that we don't know about. I would say five more years, the population of Sihanoukville catch up to Battambang's. It may not be cambdians populating the city......lol

Battambang falls behind Siem Reap and Sihanoukville in terms of developments. The first KFC outlet in the city was only opened last month (10 outlets in Phnom Penh and 1 outlet in Siem Reap).

Only KFC in SHK was closed 2 months ago, thanks to casino developments.

View from top of the future Intercontinental hotel. New development coming to lower right corner or is it just a sandpit.

KFC food are not good for health, better avoid it to stay healthy

Sihanoukville offers plenty of barbecued seafood at an affordable price.
