En effet, le phénomène est d’autant plus inquiétant qu’il ne se limite pas qu’aux infrastructures ; même la pensée, qui fut naguère le point fort de cette institution, est dans un état de délabrement avancé. Ce ne sont pas les récentes prises de position du prince de l’Eglise catholique au Congo qui contrediront cette assertion…

On voit la paille dans l'oeil de l'autre mais pas la poutre dans le sien..... C'est dommage!! Il y a une journée mondiale du patrimoine, je me demande pourquoi des sites tel que celui-ci et d'autres par centaine éparpillés sur l'étendue du territoire national ne sont pas répertoriés et reconnus en tant que patrimoine mondial auprès de l'UNESCO? Pour de un, être protégé et de deux, faire entrer de l'argent.

Ceci est la preuve du dysfonctionnement de nos institutions. Sur le papier, l’Etat est omniprésent et omnipotent car ses institutions régulent tous les domaines de la vie sociale, mais dans les faits, son efficacité est inversement proportionnelle à ses prétentions. Qui peut croire qu’il existe un ministère du Tourisme et de l’Environnement au Congo, au regard de l’absence de politique - et de reddition des comptes - dans ces domaines (et dans tant d’autres) ? Rares sont les pays en ce bas monde où des ministres aussi incompétents que José Edundo (Tourisme et Environnement) et Jeannette Kavira (Culture) auraient survécu dans leurs fonctions aussi longtemps…

Des vrais touristes ces deux là!!! Quand j'étais petite, je connaissais l'odeur des mines, je connaissais les principaux minerais que la Gécamines produisait, je savais ce qu'était une mine à ciel ouvert et à ciel fermé, nous avons visités ces endroits avec l'école, c'est notre patrimoine et on était et on est toujours resté fier d'être des mangeurs de cuivre!!! Nous nous sommes appropriés cela dès l'enfance .....
