The respect part will be easy. The red tape part? Probably not. That said, if somebody has done it before then there isn't any reason I couldn't give it a try. Good to know!

This building is the ugliest building in the world, though the irony is that it fits into it's country because North Korea is the ugliest country in the world. Both the building and it's country are abominations.

I pity the people of north Korea. I wish they could understand the poverty they are living in is their leaders fault, not america's. It's a shame the way they are brought up to hate the u.s.

It's horrible to even think about how many lives Kim Chong Ill ruined. No humanity is left in that man. I think he is the most evil human being to ever walk on this planet. There are many horrible people in history but I'd say all of them were more merciful to the innocent people's lives they ruined than Kim Chong Ill and Hitler, after all, I'd say death is better than the living hell these poor people and the Jews of the 1940s have/had to suffer.

Just imagine it folks, all the things we like, like meeting with friends, talking about what we want, having hobbies and interests, having enough money for cloths and food, having our own life style, surfing through the internet and other similar things are like an utopian dream to the North Koreans. They can't even imagine the things we take for granted. The North Koreans know only malevolence, hatred and brutality.

After watching documentaries like "life in north Korea", "living hell", and "7 days in north Korea", I really understood how awful a place it is. I'm not sure how to fetch a link from YouTube but I know you can find the first one their.
To people unfamiliar with the lifestyles of the north Koreans under the rule of Kim il sung and Kim Jong il, these documentaries will blow your mind. Just watch them.

This building is an absolute pleasure to look at, without knowing all the depressing politics and economics behind it. I hope this building will stay erect for a long time to come still. No wars please! >.< However, the building is very old aready, :'(

Hopefully, there is more infrastructural development in Pyongyang which may lead to more urban scrapers? If they do build more scrapers for the Eternal President's anniversary next year, surely they will need to fill them with businesses? Maybe PRC could persuade and coerce DPRK to open up the economy just a little for a small free market like how Cuba is going through small developments under Raul Castro now? That would be baby steps towards a less extreme left dictatorship under the Brilliant Comrade in a couple of years? Good luck Korea. n_n

Well the greatest holocaust that ever happened on this planet was NOT that one from 1940. The much worse was durign the colonization of the western part of USA. So the worst humans were today American's ancestors.

That might be. Though I think letting the people live as the North Koreans do is more evil than simply killing them.

Thatīs true. But the NK ppl live in substantial propaganda and cults of personality, they do not know about outer world () so the NK leaders can hold a status quo for very long time.

I remember a document from holocaust concentration camps, they showed up Himmler praising them and when the 'ceremony' ended, he threw up all over the place and had depressions. In fact, he didnīt fill the order of Hitler - destroying all the evidence and killing the rest of the ppl in concetration camps. If he did, we wouldnīt even know that anything like this happen!!

Just thinking about human history... nothing can really surprise me.

In my country communism has fallen, but we were never that isolated and brainwashed like the North Koreans are. I can't imagine how that regime would fall any thime soon.

But the worst thing of all is that they might very well have nuclear weapons. This should have never had happened, NK should have been invaded long before they were able to make nukes, after all, I think it's the duty of the free world to end the North Koreans' misery. However, now with their nukes an invasion would be too risky. Many people don't realize in what danger South Korea and Japan are. Unfortunatelly, now the only way how to save SK and Japan might be sterilizing NK with nuclear weapons a'la Muad'Dib. Don't get me wrong, that's a horrible thing, but I think NK with nukes is even more horrible. I fear now it's either 175 million free people in Japan and SK be killed, or 25 million slaves in NK be killed.

Yeah let japan drop a nuke!
I like that idea, give them a little taste of revenge.
But please not on America , I've never done anything bad to you guys.

Although really hope it mustn't be resolved that way, and hopefully Kim jong's inability to look over his people will cause switch to go on at some point. It would be nice to see a peoples revolution, but one thing Kim did a good job with is keeping his people faithful. But then treats them like trash as we all know.

Luckily NK still hasn't got the missiles needed to attack the US iirc. But SK and Japan are close. Especially SK is in danger since Kim has fed his people with deep hatred for SK. I heared that SK fears for it's economy if a war would begin, but I think it should fear Kim's nukes more. I fear the only defense for SK is to strike first, and to strike hard with nukes.

Are you that dumb as you sound? Itīs called nuclear deterrence. They donīt plan to attack somebody with those nukes, itīs just preventing other countries from attacking them They will never use it.

Since everyone in this thread is talking about politics, will take the chance to make one question to the mods. EuroVision and / or PeoplePower was banned because of posting political content posts in a non political thread or because he is, or at least says he is a communist? This question got born seeing everyone in here talking about politics, but only those with leftist views get banned from the forum. My question is not ironic and I don't ask it for fun, but because I'd really like to know the reason why EuroVision got banned. Being a communist and express your views is worse than not to be and do so?

As far as I know, the kind of the question doesn't fit to the thread, so, I would be pleased if this post will get moved to the right thread instead of getting banned.
Thank you.

People usually don't get banned if they make one or two off-topic posts (unless they are extreme like Kanto's suggestion to nuke 25 million people), they only get warned not to do so in the future. People like EuroVision and PeoplePower literally made dozens of off-topic posts, and eventually it got too much for the moderators. That both of them are communists has nothing to do with the reason they got banned, bans in this forum are based on the number, frequency and severity of off-topic posts, not their political leanings. I hope that clears things up.

(Disclaimer: Obviously I'm not a moderator, but I've been observing this forum for a while so I've seen how things work.)

Well my opinion is that to discuss politics in this thread is not offtopic at all. The NK are having serious problems (really serious) and they build 300m skyscraper? For example to discuss politics in 1WTC or Shard threads would be nonsense, but here it is not offtopic whatsoever. Just imagine - Robert Mugabe would want to build a 300m skyscraper in Harare. Then we would see an invasion of amnesty-international-melody-boys-loving-architecture.

But to get back to the topic, this tower is odd but kinda attracts me.
