I always think it's harder to vote on the un-UPC, partly because there's such wide scope, and also because we're less familiar with the subjects.

It's easier to vote on polls when you've seen what others have voted. When do the votes close? I still need to make up my mind on most of the entries...

I know what you mean, but that's kinda cheating. It's hard to make a completely objective appraisal of a photo without knowing what other people think first, but at the end of the day it's the only genuinely fair way to vote. It's a lot easier to take your mark off other people, but I deliberatly try not to check other people's votes first as I don't want to be influenced into thinking a photo is better or worse than my first impression.

That's also why I never leave the score I've given an entry on the post. Not leaving a score forces you to be more creative with the feedback, and hopefully more useful.
