Well, there's nothing to show intrest to, yet. Earliest on 2017 will the commuter train services be open for competition. And there's not yet real commuter trains outside Helsinki. In that way that could be benefit for Turku and Tampere, too, as they are planning to have such systems.

Yes, that's exactly what they have in mind: Helsinki commuter trains. There's definitely no markets for two operators for that, if we want to keep things simple. Don't know how much it would effect to the ticket prices... the train tickets are the same as in metro, trams, and buses anyway = it should lower them all. Of course Veolia would be probably more cost effective operator, so if they really could offer way cheaper tender than VR, it would have positive effect. And at least on Helsinki region trains it wouldn't be up to whether VR is willing to rent trains or not, since Junakalusto Oy (i.e. cities of Helsinki espoo and Vantaa) owns the new FLIRT Sm5 trains.

How should all the stations in real Finland be served? Between Kupittaa and Salo... there seem to be Lauste, Maja, Littoinen, Nunna, Runko, Piikkiö, Makarla, Villisi, Kauhainen, Toikksla, Paimio, Preitilä, Heikoinen, Kevola, Pitkäporras, Hajala, Talola, Häntälä, Halikko and Puistokuja.

There is no plans for commuter trains to Raisio. Instead the planned and hopefully soon built light rail will serve Raisio. Nuorikkala stop is in Raisio though, but not right in the centre.

No realistic plans for Naantali, afaik. There is however some ideas about extending either commuter train traffic or the light rail there. But that's all pretty much in "after 2030 - maybe" file, I think.

Here's a poor quality picture of the planned light rail. blue means the first phase, red the second. As you can see, the plans are quite open still, judging by the amount of dotted lines.
