Heres some up to date pictures from the Lansdowne road stadium development company's website.

And a couple of aerial shots:

Hers (for anyone who doesn't already know) is what the stadium will look like when complete:

Heres a link to the development website for the stadium where they post regular updates, http://www.lrsdc.ie/home/default.asp

Scheduled completion is early 2010.:banana::banana::banana:

The Europa League is the new name for the UEFA cup - the 2nd most prestigious Football competition in Europe. The biggest is the Champions League.

So yes - this is a very good thing for Lansdowne Road esp. as, until now, UEFA have generally been against awarding these two competitions to unfinished stadiums. They must of had very strong assurances that it'll be completed on schedule in 2010.

Virtual tour of the new stadium (or rather the corporate boxes)

and the "aviva" stadium website

The new stadium will be Ireland's first "elite UEFA stadium". For this accolade:

Stadiums must be all seated and have a minimum capacity of 30,000

The playing surface dimensions must be 105 metres in length and 68 metres
in width and the perimeter must be entirely fence free

The distance between the goalposts must be 7.32 m and the crossbar must be 2.44 m from the ground

The playing surface must either be natural turf or FIFA Licensed artificial turf

The substitute benches must seat at least 13 people

The dressing rooms must seat at least 25 people

There should also be a separate 'Delegate's Room', 'Doping Station' and 'First Aid Room'

The floodlights must have a brightness value of at least 1400 lux

Stadiums must have CCTV both inside and outside and a 'Security Control Room'

Must provide seating for at least 1500 VIPs and 200 journalists

There must be at least three TV studios within the Stadium.
