I see someone is a Ricardo Lockette fan there. What do those white container looking things do that have all those tubes attached that are in the photo 12 up from the last one? Just curious.

It's the temporary power gear. Transformers and conduit on the outside, switch gear on the inside.

Well I'll tell you one excavation in the city that's not going slow....

Hedreen's people have been digging well into the night on Saturdays and Sundays. It's really quite impressive. Maybe after beating the unions, he managed to import some slave labor from somewhere? These guys are working at the pace we all wish were the norm for our favorite projects.

It's striking to see the volume of soil moved considering that they only started demolishing in August.

Every day, I can see the future Howell St urban canyon taking shape. Exciting stuff!

That corner that is not being developed currently is bigger than I had thought. I guess on the up side is that it does have the potential to be something terrific. I would love to see something a bit more traditional with the look of granite with stepped back top, an art-deco Chrysler building with a modern twist.

How about a nice three story Museum of Unions?

Remember two alleys are being "saved". The actual area available for development will be smaller than what you see in the photo.

Starting to get fairly deep now. Is the exterior really going to be white with little boxy windows? Not complaining, just curious if the most recent renderings are the exact colors?

Look quick, because this is as attractive as this project is going to get.

They have bottomed at least at the top right corner and are placing something down. Will someone explain to me what it is that they're putting down and why.

I assume it's a drainage mat. These are often placed under a slab to allow water to move toward a sump.
