Imo above first world or sky avenue, should convert the rooftop into park something like vivocity singapore. Add on some street food, i am sure the experience is there

Disney and Fox are closing in on deal, could be announced next week: Sources

- Talks have progressed and a deal could be announced as early as next week, sources tell CNBC.
- The enterprise value of the Fox assets in the deal is seen as more than $60 billion.
- Fox would sell movie and television production assets and keep its news, sports and broadcast network.

So that means if it's confirmed, this become Disneyland? Haha

KL got so many indoor shopping malls, there is no need to go to Genting Highlands for an indoor shopping mall.
  • Let's not forget Genting Highlands built much much earlier than RWS, back then where got effort put in building design? RWS hotels exterior architecture pattern more than badmintons, GH ady fix liao, cannot change liao, the most is interiors redesign again, exterior shape cannot do anything anymore.
  • I like the maxim hotel lobby interior design, but outside building really low class and lack of beauty, nothing can be fixed.
  • Outdoor pedestrian mall in GPO, also sky avenue got small part got outdoor mall

  • Also outdoor shopping street is bad when raining and Genting hilltop night can be quite cold windy and uncomfortable. Dont think shoppers will particularly choosy on outdoor vs indoor as long as the malls offering is good, others thing doesnt matters.

Hmmm.. I don't quite agree with this though. Cool weather is supposed to be an attraction as Malaysia is so hot. Genting should not waste the hilltop location. Many Malaysians love to go walking in London, Melbourne, Tokyo etc in cold rainy weather. Even Brinchang night market in Cameron Highlands also they enjoy walking and shopping.

They can also renovate the old buildings exterior and upgrade it. Look at First World Hotel - not so old as they others but also does not look good. They also should do more landscaping, plant more trees and flowers and nice walkways make it more pleasant.

Look at Phu Tub Berk in Thailand - so many people go there to catch the sea of clouds effect which can also be seen in Genting Highlands. But Genting never appreciate its advantage and offer nice cloud viewing lookouts and promote it, they just build indoor shopping mall which can be found anywhere.

Phu Tub Berk

YES I agree. 1st world hotel is the world largest hotel. The food factory for instance is the only decent place to get a hotel breakfast at an affordable price

Although they serve decent food at a decent price they could have done an outdoor sitting area with good view of Genting Highland and theme park. Similar to many hotels in Cameron Highland

I'm always looking forward to an outdoor alfresco area where people can walk outside and enjoy the cooling weather

No point driving all the way up and still get stuck inside a mall

Understand...rmb last time in my class (malaysia school) discussion, everyone prefer snowing over raining. Only my teacher prefer raining over snowing as she knew through her experience, snowing is very troublesome, snow is dirty and surrounding will be very messy and uncomfortable.

I dont think anyone will prefer cold rainy weather everyday even for malaysian. Prefer once in a while is normal. I live in western country before, and i really do not enjoy the cold weather in London and melbourne or walk out enjoy it....prefer stay at home.

But i enjoy comfortable weather, can wear short pants and tshirt, wont sweat that kind under sun.

Exterior, they cannot do like this, boxy appearance cannot be redesign the shape

But they can do facade, like give a new cover to the building..like this can

Very costly and i dont think Genting will bother to do it. Not much investment sense.

Nice! I google it, this mountain slightly shorter than genting. How come in Genting always looks like in the cloud, instead above the cloud de...

Also one more thing about the mall and casino, too much smoking, dunno how but everywhere i go i can smell it. Cannot tahan it seems theres no designated smoking area even for the casino.

Anyway will be going again next year to see sky avenue, hopefully wont smell smoke like in first world plaza last yr

Wonder where in Resorts World Genting will the Zouk will be located? Should be at one of the plus-sized lots in the Sky Avenue, I presume...

Clubbing in the cool weather, not bad!

just went there yesterday night

am kinda disappointed. one did not go all the way up the hills only to be trapped in an indoor malls. and since its peak time the sky avenue is so hot and stuffy.

not that indoor malls is bad , HK put it on top of the peak. but like HK, at least they need to balance it out a bit. few outdoors dining option, observation decks and probably even a jungle trail/botanical gardens. i mean singapore build a glass biosphere to house mountains plant and over here with the forest surrounds it, there's not even a walkways for visitors to enjoy it.

also maybe make the previous outdoor light show projection on genting grand hotel a permanent installment, level off the old parking in front of it into kinda off town square so people can lepak and enjoy the fresh air. a hard rock hotel and cafe too would be nice.
