Expect to see numerous civil servants moving to Stratford after the election as the Govt plans to rationalise it's estate and sell off central London offices.

After the Olympics i've been waiting to see this section start to bed in and create a sense of place, the Rogers building is a fantastic addition - whilst not his best work it's certainly better than most of the dross surrounding it.

Plot S6 (office building with some retail). Designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners:

Plot S6 and S5 together. The S6 building is the smaller one:

This is rubbish, the original mock up, first picture in this thread is 100 times better, all they need in this design is to add some green cladding and a rastafarian smoking a joint in the foreground, to top off, this comedy design..... Another poor quality, poorly designed building, for what was a great opportunity at Stratford to produce something good and very special, to show off 21st century London design at it's best. it is rapidly turning into a collection, architecturally, of the worst and most poorly designed buildings in London for the last twenty years.....

The International Quarter should be renamed The Sensimilla Skunk Quarter, to reflect the architecture.

New aerial render of TIQ

Updated render featuring actual designs for Glasshouse Gardens, S5 & S6 office buildings, Penny Brook and Adagio hotels, with Rogers-style clones as fillers elsewhere.

Although looking at all those dull blocks it could almost be an updated version of Croydon. Stratford .....the New Croydon

I hope the park, culture, museums, sporting venues, canals and better transport links help...but I can see it becoming synonymous with early 21st century architecture like Croydon is for 60s/70s buildings. Let's hope the Stratford ones last longer.

It's not actually going to look as bland as that. The renders of the Chobham Farm and Angel Lane sites at the bottom and bottom left of the picture are just generic placeholders and do not reflect what's actually being built. Manhattan Loft Gardens, Stratford Plaza, Stratford Central, Stratosphere, Stratford Island, Stratford Riverside and Capital Towers, none of which are shown, will add considerable diversity to this view.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) will be leaving Canary Wharf and moving to a new £2.6billion development in Stratford.

With detailed planning consent already secured for both buildings, construction will start this summer, ready for occupation to begin in 2017.

FCA acting chief operating officer David Godfrey said: “The International Quarter offers a compelling mix of an excellent building and facilities, value for money, sustainability and the right infrastructure to meet our future needs.
